Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity

We have a secondment opportunity available for an experiencedNew Zealand Registered Dietitianinterested in stepping into anAdvanced Clinician or Senior Renal Dietitian role.This role is part of the inpatient Dietitian team and would see you workingpermanent, part-time(28 hours /week) Monday to Friday, with the option of roster weekends. This is an opportunity to join our dynamic and supportiveRenal teamwithin theNutrition and Dietetics Servicebased atAuckland City Hospital. This role will see you working closely with the Renal Service providing nutrition care for patients with chronic kidney disease including pre-dialysis, dialysis, renal transplant and kidney stone prevention in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role is ideal for a dietitian with excellent communication, organisation skills and ability to work independently as part of a dynamic team.

  • Provide advanced clinical practice and implement evidence-based standards of practice
  • Lead the development of local pathways, protocols and guidelines
  • Provide clinical teaching and support to all relevant stakeholders including patients/clients, family whanau, staff and students, and other health professionals.
  • Evaluate service requirements and implement clinical research and audits
  • Provide advanced clinical resource both locally and regionally

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Those interested in applying for the Advanced Clinician role need to have 8+ years post-graduate clinical experience, of which 4 years needs to be working as a renal dietitian
  • Those interested in applying for the Senior role need to have 6+ years post-graduate clinical experience preferably working within a clinical dietetic setting
  • Full, clean NZ Drivers’ License
  • Be a great connector of people and ideas
  • An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Effective time management, flexibility, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary Range (Depending on experience):

Advanced Clinician range isStep 11 $93,397 to Step 14 $107,449

Senior Dietitian range isStep 9 $97,192 to Step 12 $98,499
