About the Role

Join our team as a Registered Midwife on an ongoing full time or part time basis to work at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Midwives who love coming to work everyday to be able to provide women centred care across the full scope of the maternity journey. Work with likeminded skilled senior staff and clinical mentors, while being supported by others across the program and across our large, complex health service. Our maternity team is a close-knit community of professionals who support each other every step of the way. You'll be part of a team that values collaboration, learning, and growth and your daily duties will include the following:

  • Working collaboratively with a cohesive team of Midwives, and broader team of professionals, to ensure safe patient care if provided to our women
  • Empower and work closely with our women and their families to meet their needs across the continuum, being an advocate for their choices and care where safe to do so.
  • Provide education to women and families, and mentor junior staff.
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement and review care on partnership with the broader Monash Women’s teams.

Our dedicated team of experienced midwives, Obstetric Registrars, and Consultants collaboratively provide specialized antenatal and perinatal care, including advanced diagnostic services and one-to-one support during labor. With a focus on family-centered care, our Maternity Ward ensures a multidisciplinary environment, fostering excellence in the management of complex pregnancies. About You

Aside from a passion and commitment to women centred care, to ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • APHRA registration to practice independently as a registered Midwife
  • proven experience and knowledge working in an Acute Maternity service
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills coupled with delivering evidence based holistic patient centred care
  • Willingness to participate in quality and/or research projects to improve the standard of midwifery care
