About Unit 1 Dandenong - Adult Mental Health Service

Unit 1at Monash Health Dandenong is a 25 Bed inpatient unit which sits within the Dandenong Adult Mental Health Service under the Mental Health Program. The service provides care to consumers aged between 25-65 who require short-term inpatient management and treatment during an acute phase of mental illness. Situated in Dandenong, Unit 1 services a culturally diverse population.The multidisciplinary team work with consumers to provide a range of therapeutic interventions and programs, whilst also working collaboratively with families and carers to provide education and guidance on how to best support consumers during their recovery.

A Day in the Life

Unit 1 is looking for an experienced Mental Health Enrolled Nurse with a passion for providing recovery focused patient centred care to consumers during an acute or severe phase of mental illness;

  • Part time permanent position available
  • 7 day rotating roster across all shifts
  • Delivery of day to day patient care
  • Clinical management and decision making

About You

Bringing your passion and genuine interest into Acute Mental Health, you understand the complexities of working in this setting. You are a dynamic, key team player and willing to contribute to the continual improvement of your skills and knowledge as a Mental Health practitioner. You have:

  • Demonstration of appropriate competencies and skills as per the relevant Enrolled Nurse Classification
  • You possess a patient centred approach to your provision of care and work towards making a positive difference, in line with the Monash health iCARE values
  • You understand and demonstrate the values set within an organisation within every aspect of your practice and role model others to do the same
  • You communicate and have the ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate openness to change and innovation within the workplace

What you need:

  • Demonstrated Nursing experience, in an Acute Inpatient Unit
  • Current Australian AHPRA nursing registration
  • The ability to live and work in Victoria (Australia) without restriction, including ability to obtain all necessary police clearances and a Working with Children Check
