Social Worker

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:

  1. Social Work: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social workers (AASW). Or Senior Psychology: Accredited Psychology degree with general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of a minimum one year full time equivalent hours at the 9th year of service as a psychologist. Or Clinical Psychologist / Forensic Psychologist: Accredited Masters / Doctoral degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology and general registration with endorsement or working towards endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  2. Demonstrated high level skills, experience and use of high level professional judgement in clinical practice with a specialised focus on providing responses to victims of domestic and family violence and their children. Knowledge of health service delivery and referral options for these clients; including legislative and policy context.
  3. Demonstrated advanced understanding of the dynamics and effects of domestic violence on victims and their children. Best practice principles for reducing domestic violence with both victim and persons causing harm. Sound understanding of trauma informed principles.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision. Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report on services, and high level knowledge/ experience of quality management and leadership processes.
  5. Demonstrated experience in provision of case management and clinical supervision in a clinical setting and demonstrated ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks.
  6. Proven ability working with a high level of cultural competence with people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, those who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and/ or come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
  7. Proven excellent interpersonal and communication and networking skills, including, verbal and written forms and an ability to practice within the Primary Health Care Framework, including building effective partnerships with other relevant government, non-government and community organisations.
  8. Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
