Rockhampton Hospital Emergency Department is a regional adult and paediatric mix ED with an annual attendance of 50,000 presentation which 25% are paediatric. Rockhampton Hospital is a referral hospital for Central Queensland and sees a wide range of complex multi-specialty cases.

About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. Specialist Medical Services include Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Cardiology, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Palliative Care, Radiation Oncology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Psychiatry. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. The Cancer Care Unit provides care for local patients, with state-of-the-art equipment and services.

The Emergency Department is led by emergency physicians and rural generalists.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $587,401 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An annual rate between $204,206 - $258,910 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
