General Practitioner (VR GP, GR GP or Medical Officer) Skin Cancer Screening Program

Are you an experienced VR GP, GR GP, or Medical Officer with a passion for skin cancer detection and prevention?

We're seeking clinicians with skin cancer screening experience to join a government-funded screening program delivering vital community health services across South East Queensland.

Competitive hourly rates of $170-$200 per hour

Flexible engagement options - ABN or PAYG

2-3 days per week throughout October and November

Opportunity to be part of a large-scale government health initiative

Diverse clinic locations across Queensland

Working within established screening clinics, you will conduct skin cancer assessments and identify suspicious lesions requiring further investigation or treatment.

Clinic hours are typically 8:00am-5:00pm, with patient appointments generally running from 8:30am-4:30pm.

Most clinics see approximately 28 patients per day (15-minute appointments), with some high-volume clinics seeing up to 40 patients per day (10-minute appointments) where administrative support is available.

• Conduct comprehensive skin cancer screening consultations


• Perform full-body skin examinations using a dermatoscope


• Assess, identify and document suspicious lesions


• Provide recommendations and referral pathways where required


• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation


• Follow program protocols and clinical governance requirements


• Assist with clinic setup and pack down

• Current AHPRA registration


• VR GP, GR GP or Medical Officer


• Demonstrated experience in skin cancer screening and assessment


• Confident use of a dermatoscope (own equipment required)


• Excellent communication and clinical assessment skills


• Ability to travel between clinic locations as required
