Looking for your next adventure? Combine meaningful work with the opportunity to explore one of Australia's most breathtaking regions. We're seeking an experienced Locum Cardiac Sonographer to join the team in Broome, Western Australia, for a 4-12 week contract commencing January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in regional and remote healthcare while enjoying the incredible landscapes, turquoise waters, and unique Kimberley lifestyle.

The Role You'll primarily be based in Broomeperforming a mix of inpatient and outpatient echocardiography, with opportunities to travel to remote communities supporting outreach cardiology services.

Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • 30-minute lunch break
Daily Workload
  • Approximately 10-12 patients per day
  • Standard appointment times of 45 minutes
  • Outreach/community clinics typically 30-minute appointments

Outreach Opportunities

Be part of an important service delivering cardiac care across the Kimberley. Depending on the roster, you may travel to:

  • Derby
  • Fitzroy Crossing
  • Kununurra
  • Halls Creek
  • Wyndham
  • Surrounding remote communities

Outreach trips generally run for 2-3 days and offer a unique chance to experience some of Australia's most spectacular remote landscapes while making a genuine impact on local communities.

Requirements
  • Accredited Cardiac Sonographer
  • Current ASAR accreditation
  • Previous echocardiography experience
  • Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
  • A passion for rural and remote healthcare is highly regarded
