What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology and Cancer Clinics, you’ll provide individualised nursing care and help patients navigate their radiation treatment journey. You’ll assess needs, manage treatment-related toxicities and collaborate with the wider team to achieve safe, timely and culturally appropriate care. Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care for patients receiving radiation treatment.

  • Manage and respond to treatment-related toxicities, escalating concerns and coordinating appropriate clinical support.

  • Support patient flow from initial consultation and assessment through radiation treatment and follow-up clinics.

  • Act as a key contact or case manager for patients with complex care needs, working closely with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team.

  • Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement and evidence-based nursing practice, while supporting the development of colleagues and students.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Division 1

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated post registration experience in acute surgical, medical or palliative care settings as deemed appropriate by WSLHD

  2. Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders

  3. Ability to effectively prioritise, coordinate and manage a busy workload.

  4. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement principles and improved health outcomes

  5. Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.

  6. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development in an adult learning environment.
