Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist in Respiratory Medicine (Interventional Pulmonology) to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital!

The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department and Hospital as required. This position will have a focus on Interventional Pulmonology (IP).

Specific tasks for this position include the organisation and performance of procedures for the diagnosis and management of various respiratory disorders including, but not limited to, lung cancer and lung nodule diagnosis, advanced airways procedures for large airway obstructions and COPD, interstitial lung disease diagnosis and pleural disease diagnosis and management.

The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Respiratory Medicine and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
