Clinical Midwifery Educator - Young
*This position qualifies for incentives under the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, including up to $10,000 sign on incentive, and up to $10,000 each year (incentive value dependent on full-time equivalent, position and location).

Working closely with clinical teams, you will foster a culture of learning, mentorship and continuous improvement, helping to strengthen workforce capability and improve outcomes for women, babies and families across the service.

Renumeration: $124,273.70 - $128,301.89 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

About the role
As a Clinical Midwife Educator, you will provide clinical leadership, education and mentorship to support the development of a skilled and confident midwifery workforce across the Young Maternity Service. You will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of education programs, promote evidence-based practice, and foster a culture of continuous learning to enhance patient care and workforce capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs that meet the learning needs of nursing and midwifery staff
- Provide day-to-day clinical education, mentoring, preceptorship and support to students, new graduates and existing staff.
- Conduct competency assessments and support professional development using contemporary adult learning principles.
- Collaborate with managers and multidisciplinary teams to identify learning needs and implement education strategies that support best practice.
- Promote a positive learning culture and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and workforce capability

What We’re Looking For:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife and/or Registered Nurse, with a relevant postgraduate qualification in education or a clinical specialty area.
- Extensive recent clinical experience and a passion for supporting the growth and development of nursing and midwifery staff.
- Proven ability to deliver clinical education, competency-based assessments and professional development programs using contemporary teaching methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A positive and supportive leader who promotes evidence-based practice, continuous learning and high-quality patient care outcomes
