The Alcohol and Other Drugs Coordinatorposition is well suited to someone with relevant qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, community services, social and emotional wellbeing or a related discipline, with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values, and commitment to the advancementand self-determination of Aboriginal communities.
As the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Coordinator, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of AOD services across Katherine West communities, making sure our work is culturally secure, trauma-informed, person-centred and guided by what communities tell us matters most. You'll work closely with our Primary Health Care and Healing & Wellbeing teams to develop, implement and review client care plans, weaving AOD support into broader care and helping clients connect with specialist mental health and other services when they need them. You'll also partner with communities, cultural leaders and KWHB teams to plan and deliver community-based prevention, education and harm reduction activities that respond to local needs and priorities.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Provide specialist AOD assessment, counselling,brief interventions and harm reduction support to clients, and provide appropriate AOD education and support tofamilies and carers.
- Support staff through day-to-day practiceguidance, shared planning and capability development to strengthen culturally safe andevidence-informed AOD practice.
- Provide professional mentoring, practice guidance and workforce development to thecommunity-based Aboriginal workforce, strengthening culturally safe, traumainformedand evidence-informed AOD practice.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships and referral pathways with AOD treatmentproviders, Continuing Care Coordination services, cultural leaders, communityorganisations and other government and non-government services to supportcoordinated AOD responses.
- Maintain accurate client records and service data and contribute to programmonitoring and reporting, ensuring information is recorded in Communicare and otherrequired systems and supports client care, service planning, performance monitoringand funding requirements.
What You will Receive:
In return, you'll receive an attractive remuneration package (negotiable based on your skills and experience) from $127,428 to $138,285 (RN3 classifcation) or $118,778 - $137,698 (HP3 classifcation), plus 12% superannuation and a range of benefits, including:
