About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

Introducing the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAHMU), a fresh, purpose built 10-bed facility dedicated to supporting adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are navigating complex and severe mental health challenges. This state-of-the-art inpatient unit is the newest chapter in the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYFMH) story, expanding its reach to provide compassionate, specialised care from the earliest stages of life through to young adulthood. NAHMU isn’t just a place of healing, it’s a vital step forward in empowering young people and their families with the support they need, when they need it most.

Join a dedicated and multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional mental health care to young people and their families. As a Registered Nurse within the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAMHU), you will play a pivotal role in providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care that supports recovery and positive health outcomes.

Working collaboratively with patients, families, carers and a broad multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based nursing care across a range of mental health settings. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing interventions that promote recovery, wellbeing and quality patient outcomes.

As an experienced clinician, you will provide leadership within the nursing team, supporting and mentoring Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork and professional development. You will work closely with medical, allied health, peer workers, Aboriginal Health Workers and Department of Education staff to ensure coordinated, holistic care that meets the individual needs of young people.

We encourage you to apply and become part of a team dedicated to supporting young people on their journey to recovery.
