Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced, compassionate and enthusiastic Associate Veterinarian to join an award-winning small animal practice offering an exceptional combination of clinical independence, modern veterinary facilities and professional development. With more than 46 years of community connections and a recently constructed, purpose-designed facility, this opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys delivering personalised patient care while working alongside supportive and experienced colleagues. The varied caseload includes dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, birds and occasional reptiles and wildlife, providing excellent opportunities to broaden clinical knowledge and pursue individual veterinary interests.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive veterinary services within a contemporary clinical environment featuring multiple consultation rooms, fully equipped examination areas and advanced diagnostic technology. With standard consultation appointments scheduled for approximately 20 minutes and longer appointments allocated for more complex cases, the role encourages thorough clinical assessments and thoughtful treatment planning. Experienced veterinary colleagues, dedicated nursing professionals and approachable leadership provide ongoing support, while flexible working arrangements, extensive training opportunities and an absence of weekend or out-of-hours commitments create an attractive balance between professional development and personal wellbeing.

Qualifications Needed
  • Recognised veterinary degree with current full registration in Australia or eligibility to obtain the appropriate veterinary registration.
  • A minimum of two years of practical clinical veterinary experience, demonstrating confidence in companion animal consultations and medical case management.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care across a varied small animal caseload.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with veterinary colleagues, nursing professionals and reception staff.
  • Enthusiasm for continued professional learning, clinical independence and contributing positively to a friendly veterinary environment.
Package
  • Four-day full-time working week of approximately 38 hours, with alternative five-day arrangements or part-time opportunities considered.
  • No weekend duties, public holiday commitments, overnight shifts or on-call requirements, supporting an excellent work-life balance.
  • Annual continuing professional development allowance of $2,000, with the option to carry unused funding into the following year.
  • Paid study leave and complimentary access to practical veterinary workshops, clinical training courses and online learning resources.
  • Access to a dedicated veterinary training centre in Victoria, including arranged travel for eligible practical training sessions.
  • Recently constructed veterinary facilities featuring modern diagnostic equipment, well-equipped consultation rooms and advanced clinical technology.
  • Paid parental leave provisions, return-to-work incentives and additional benefits designed to support personal commitments.
  • Employee savings on veterinary care, pet products, retail purchases, fitness services and selected insurance arrangements.
  • Access to salary packaging and novated leasing options, alongside a range of additional employee financial benefits.
  • A flexible and supportive clinical environment offering professional autonomy, experienced veterinary mentorship and opportunities to develop expertise across multiple companion animal species.
