About the Opportunity
Looking to broaden your clinical experience, develop specialist nursing skills and make a meaningful difference in a supportive rural healthcare team? Join Muswellbrook Hospital as a Casual Registered Nurse across our Dialysis and Infusion Services, where you will have the opportunity to work in two rewarding areas of specialist nursing while building your clinical knowledge and experience.
Our six-chair Dialysis Unit operates six days a week (Monday to Saturday), while our four-chair Infusion Unit provides treatment services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Depending on your experience and service requirements, there may also be opportunities to work across other areas of the hospital, offering valuable exposure to a diverse range of clinical settings. You won't be expected to know it all from day one. We are committed to helping you build your confidence and specialist knowledge through comprehensive orientation, dedicated education and ongoing clinical support.
For Dialysis, your orientation includes two weeks of dedicated training at either Maitland or John Hunter Hospital Dialysis Unit, working alongside the Dialysis Educator, followed by supported shifts and local orientation at Muswellbrook. You will continue to receive guidance from the Dialysis Clinical Nurse Educator, Muswellbrook Clinical Nurse Educator team and Clinical Nurse Manager.
For Infusion Services, you will complete two weeks of orientation at Tamworth Oncology Unit with the District Cancer Services Educator, followed by local orientation and ongoing support from our Oncology Educator, Cancer Care Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Manager and broader Cancer Services team.
As a rural facility, Muswellbrook Hospital also benefits from 24-hour medical officer support, ensuring you are part of a connected and collaborative clinical environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your nursing capabilities, explore specialist areas of practice and become part of a welcoming team that values learning, collaboration and quality patient care.
