The centre will comprise of:
Four state of the art operating theatres
38 overnight beds
20 chair day surgery and day of surgery lounge (The Lounge)

Extensive experience supporting Orthopaedic Surgery, including knowledge and application of orthopaedic equipment

We offer inpatient hospice care, specialist palliative care clinics and supportive therapies for people living with a life-limiting illness. Care may include support for pain and symptom relief, end-of-life care, advance care planning, and help to return home where appropriate. Patients and families can also access Footprints Day Centre, which offers emotional support, complementary therapies, wellness groups and craft workshops.
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated professional to coordinate and deliver meaningful programs and activities for individuals and groups within a palliative care setting. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of holistic, person-centred care that enhances the wellbeing and quality of life of patients and their families.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with caregivers, clinicians and external service providers to ensure seamless care and support across the continuum. You will also foster strong connections with community nursing services, outpatient services, spiritual care providers and other community-based organisations to promote coordinated and comprehensive palliative care outcomes.
The role is offered on a fixed-term, 12-month part-time contract basis working 20 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and evaluate engaging therapeutic, recreational and creative programs for patients, carers and families.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support holistic, person-centred palliative care and care planning.
Provide individual support, follow-up care and complementary therapies within scope of practice to enhance patient wellbeing.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, health providers and professional networks to support seamless care.
Promote Support and Therapy services and contribute to community engagement, education and service awareness initiatives.
Support and mentor volunteers, students and community placements in the delivery of palliative care programs and activities.
Coordinate and contribute to special events, celebrations and awareness activities, including Palliative Care Week initiatives.
Monitor patient and family wellbeing, communicating observations and concerns to the multidisciplinary team to support quality care outcomes.
Your skills and experience
To thrive in this role, you will have an understanding of the unique needs of palliative care patients and their Carers, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be a compassionate team player who enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, bringing experience in delivering complementary therapies and creative arts-based programs.
Previous experience in an inpatient healthcare setting and coordinating group programs will be highly regarded, as will an understanding of accreditation requirements and basic computer literacy skills.

Your Role
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) supports the nursing/midwifery care team in the delivery of high standard, quality patient care in the acute care environment. The AIN carries out their duties under the supervision, delegation and direction of a Registered Nurse/Midwife as per the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Decision-making framework for nursing and midwifery.
The Position
Works within the AIN scope of practice.
Plans, collaborates and consults with RN/RM to achieve desired health outcomes for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
All aspects of direct patient care is carried out under direction, guidance, supervision and coordination of a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
Assists Nursing/ Midwifery caregivers to deliver all aspects of care using a patient-centred approach.
Observes and reports all changes in patient’s condition to the Registered Nurse/Midwife in a timely and appropriate manner.
Responds appropriately to patient’s needs/call bells in a timely manner.
Is accountable for performing all duties in accordance with the Statement of Duties list, within a demonstrated competency level.
Seek advice on dealing with conflict within the workplace and report conflict to Nurse/Midwife immediately.
Perform safe manual handling of patients under supervision of Registered Nurse/Midwife.
Adheres to infection control policy and procedures
Maintains confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patients and demonstrates empathy and sensitivity towards patients and relatives.
Understands role in an emergency and follow direction of the Coordinator.
Maintain a safe, clean environment for patient’s
Ensure that all food is handled and stored according to the Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations 1993.
All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor
To be considered for this role, you must be actively enrolled in and have successfully completed at least 12 months of an NMBA-approved Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery or Diploma of Nursing program. Alternatively, you will have successfully completed the nationally recognised qualification, Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Acute Care). You will be able to demonstrate competence in performing the skills outlined in the Statement of Duties, along with a sound understanding of safe manual handling practices, Quality Improvement, and Infection Control standards.
The successful applicant will possess well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills are essential, as is a willingness to accept feedback from a Registered Nurse or Midwife and work towards identified learning goals. You will demonstrate a professional attitude, a commitment to quality care, and the capacity to contribute positively within a team environment.

Position Profile: We are seeking suitably experienced, motivated & innovative team members, with excellent interpersonal & organisational skills to join the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Pharmacy Services team.
Regional Clinical Pharmacists assist in the promotion of safe, rational and cost effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services for hospital patients throughout the region. The services provided are to include but are not limited to completing the medication reconciliation process for admitted hospital patients, dispensing medications to patients, providing drug information to regional nursing and medical staff and making independent decisions on therapeutic strategies to optimize patient care.
The Senior Pharmacists are responsible for delivering safe, effective and high quality care through the provision of virtual clinical pharmacy services for patients throughout WACHS. These services include but are not limited to; virtual pharmacy for inpatients at WACHS sites without on-site pharmacist support, virtual training and upskilling of junior pharmacists in the regions, pharmacist led virtual outpatient clinics in the areas of visiting specialists, pre-admission, day infusions and palliative care. These positions will work closely with the WACHS-wide Pharmacy Services team and regional pharmacy departments to ensure best practice and patient centric care is delivered utilising modern, innovative and technologically advanced services.
