We are the people who give possibilities purpose BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health is our Purpose, and it's no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Job DescriptionAre you a Hospital Pharmacist ready to become a trusted expert in Pyxis, automation and medication safety? You've seen firsthand the impact the right technology, governance and medication management processes can have on patient safety. Now, there's an opportunity to take your hospital pharmacy experience beyond a single site and help healthcare organisations across Australia and New Zealand optimise medication management through industry-leading technologies, automation and evidence-based best practice.
This role offers the opportunity to combine your hospital pharmacy expertise with education, consulting, project management and innovation, helping hospitals transform how medications are stored, managed and delivered. At BD, possibility isn't an idea. It's what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.
As a Medication Safety Pharmacist, you'll be part of BD's Medication Safety & Infusion Clinical Team, partnering with pharmacy leaders, clinicians and healthcare organisations to improve medication management processes through automation, technology and clinical best practice. Working across BD's Medication Management Solutions portfolio, including Pyxis and Alaris you'll play a key role in supporting hospitals through technology implementations, optimisation programs and medication safety initiatives that improve both patient and clinician outcomes. This is more than a pharmacist role. It's an opportunity to become a trusted advisor, educator and medication safety expert, helping hospitals navigate the future of medication management across Australia and New Zealand.
Your Day-to-DayNo two days will look the same. One day you might be supporting a hospital preparing to implement new medication automation technology. The next, you could be facilitating clinical workshops, delivering education programs, reviewing medication workflows or partnering with healthcare leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
You will:- Deliver product training, clinical education and technical support to healthcare customers
- Support product evaluations, clinical simulations, implementations and post-implementation optimisation programs
- Design and deliver education programs tailored to individual customer needs
- Partner with hospitals to improve medication management processes and support medication safety initiatives
- Manage multiple projects across the customer lifecycle, from pre-sale support through to implementation and ongoing optimisation
- Conduct audits, assessments and continuous improvement activities to drive better outcomes
- Build strong relationships with pharmacy leaders, clinicians, decision-makers and Key Opinion Leaders
- Support customers in adopting evidence-based medication management practices
- Provide customer insights and feedback that contribute to future product development and innovation
- Work closely with BD's Sales, Marketing and Clinical teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Represent BD at conferences, trade shows and industry events
You're passionate about medication safety and improving healthcare outcomes. You understand that medication safety is about more than individual patient interactions. You're excited by the opportunity to help healthcare organisations implement smarter processes, adopt innovative technologies and continuously improve the way medications are managed across the continuum of care.
You'll bring:- A degree in Pharmacy and current pharmacist registration
- Significant experience within a hospital pharmacy environment
- A strong understanding of medication safety, medication governance and best-practice medication management
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong planning, organisational and project management capabilities
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to confidently engage and influence multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and healthcare technology
- Experience with medication automation technologies, digital health initiatives or systems such as Pyxis or similar platforms will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
BD is one of the world's largest medical technology companies, but we've never lost our human touch. Every day, healthcare professionals rely on our technologies to improve patient outcomes, enhance safety and drive better healthcare delivery.
Through our Medication Management Solutions business, we're helping hospitals rethink what's possible across the medication management continuum. - Exposure to leading healthcare technologies including Pyxis , Alaris and Rowa
- The chance to influence medication safety practices across hospitals throughout ANZ
- A role combining clinical expertise, education, consulting and project leadership
- Ongoing development, training and mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals
- A collaborative and highly respected clinical team environment
