About the Role
The Grade 2 Scientist provides research coordination and administrative support for clinical research undertaken within the Nephrology Research Unit. The role supports participant recruitment, study coordination, ethics and governance activities, data collection, regulatory compliance, maintenance of essential documents and communication with investigators, sponsors and study participants. The position contributes to delivery of high-quality clinical research conducted in accordance with approved protocols, International Council for Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), institutional policies and Australian research governance requirements. The role works closely with and supports the Research coordinator
Position Duties
- Support recruitment, screening, enrolment and retention of research participants.
- Coordinate participant visits, investigations and follow-up.
- Assist investigators in day-to-day conduct of multiple concurrent studies.
- Maintain study schedules and ensure protocol compliance.
Classifications for this position will range from RY4-RY7 ($94,478.80- $106,906.80 per annum, pro rata).
Your Contribution
- Bachelor’s degree in health science, Biomedical Science, Medical Science, Public Health, Clinical Research or related discipline.
- Current ICH-GCP certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience in healthcare, clinical research or research administration.
- Knowledge of research ethics, governance and Good Clinical Practice.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

About The Department of Nephrology
The Nephrology Service provides comprehensive care across the continuum of chronic kidney disease, from outpatient management through to haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis and kidney transplantation. The service supports metropolitan, regional and rural dialysis programs and maintains an active clinical research portfolio comprising investigator-initiated and commercial studies.

Medical Imaging Department
Cabrini’s Medical Imaging provides a 24-hour service seven days a week at our Malvern campus. The department services a variety of patients including outpatients, inpatients and ED patients across our Malvern and Brighton campuses. Modalities include General Xray, Cath Lab, Hybrid Lab, Angiography, CT, MRI, Mammography and DEXA. We also offer Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Medical Imaging Technologists to join our team. The successful applicant will be able to participate in a rotating seven-day roster.
What the role involves:
- Providing care to the patient before, during and after the medical imaging examination, ensuring compassionate, competent care and service.
- Examining the patient radiographically, as and when requested in writing by a qualified medical practitioner, according to the imaging protocols of the department or as directed by the consultant radiologist.
- Adhering to the Cabrini codes of professional conduct, code of ethics, standards of practice and competencies, Mission, Values and Vision, and the Behaviours that Matter.
What we’re looking for:
- Diploma or Bachelor degree in Radiography / Radiation / Medical Imaging
- Previous experience in one of more of the following modalities is desirable – CT, Angiography, Cardiac Cath Lab, Mammography, Breastscreen and/or MRI.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills with a patient focused caring attitude
- Commitment to learning and further developing skillset
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Cabrini Nuclear Medicine and PET Department
The Cabrini Nuclear Medicine and PET Department provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. Equipped with two Nuclear Medicine cameras (SPECT/CT) and a new Digital PET camera , the department delivers high-quality imaging to support a wide range of clinical needs.
The department performs a full suite of Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging studies, supporting specialties including oncology, cardiology, and neurology. In addition to diagnostic imaging, Cabrini offers a variety of targeted therapies such as radioactive iodine (I-131) for thyroid disease, Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT), OncoBeta therapy for non-melanoma skin cancers, and Theranostic treatments using Lu-177 PSMA for prostate cancer.
Cabrini Nuclear Medicine and PET is also actively involved in numerous clinical trials, contributing to advancements in cancer care, heart disease evaluation, and neurological imaging.
How you will make an impact:
We are seeking a dynamic Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our comprehensive Nuclear Medicine and PET Department at Cabrini Malvern.
Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to a high professional standard. Key responsibilities include conducting imaging examinations, assisting with the efficient daily operation of the department, contributing to quality control and assurance programs, and participating in the departmental on-call roster. Previous PET experience is desirable, and this role offers the opportunity to be part of an innovative team dedicated to excellence in patient care and imaging.

- Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiation) in Nuclear Medicine Technology or accepted equivalent
- Registration with AHPRA
- Current Radiation Use Licence (Department of Health)
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

About the Department / Program
Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There is currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.
You will be joining Monash Health at an exciting time as we work in partnership with Alfred Health to be the premier shared public pathology service in Victoria. As a member of the pathology team you will be helping shape the direction of the partnership.
About the Role
Join our team as a Grade 1 Medical Scientist (RX1-RX7) on a full time ongoing basis, to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Anatomical Principal Scientist and working with the broader histology team.
We have a fixed term maternity leave position 76hrs F/N + ADO running until October 2027.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in staff rotations, overtime and on call & out of hour rosters as directed. Operational hours of the laboratory are 05:00 - 21:00 Monday to Friday and 06:00 - 14:30 Saturday. You must be able to perform tests provided by the unit without supervision (following suitable training) which include:

Perform and assist with the specimen cut up;

Embed and section of biopsy material for diagnostic and necropsy specimens;
-
Prepare frozen sections for urgent diagnosis;
-
Perform routine, special staining and immunohistochemistry techniques using prescribed methodologies and appropriate control procedures;

Assist at renal biopsy procedure to insure appropriate tissue sampling;
-
Assist with a range of mortuary duties;

Other duties as directed.
About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

Experience in routine histology

About the Role
The Haematology Clinical Research Centre is seeking a Specimen Shipment Laboratory Assistant to support the management, documentation and shipment of biological specimens associated with haematology clinical research.
Working under the guidance of the Unit Manager, you will coordinate the preparation and shipment of laboratory samples to local and international sponsors, ensuring specimens are handled, documented and dispatched safely and within study-specific requirements. You will play an important role in supporting the efficient operation of the Haematology Clinical Research Centre through accurate specimen tracking, database management, courier coordination and adherence to clinical trial laboratory manuals and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and adhere to clinical trial laboratory manuals and study-specific instructions for the shipment of biological specimens.
Prepare and check shipping documentation, including airway bills, customs documentation, specimen manifests, proformas and other study-specific documentation.
Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate tracking and identification records for specimens leaving the laboratory.
Coordinate daily courier bookings for specimens being shipped from the Haematology Clinical Research Centre.
Collect processed samples from St Vincent's Pathology and ensure they are safely packed and prepared for shipment to local and international laboratories.
Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of shipments according to study-specific schedules, ensuring time-sensitive specimens are sent within required timeframes.
Enter and maintain accurate data in clinical trial databases, disease registries and other research databases.
Assist with the identification, documentation and escalation of specimen shipment deviations, errors, near misses and incidents in accordance with departmental procedures.
Assist with the development, review and implementation of specimen shipment procedures, checklists, templates and other operational documentation.
Complete mandatory hospital training and study-specific training relating to specimen handling, processing and shipment.
Work collaboratively with Clinical Trial Coordinators, Clinical Research Nurses, laboratory staff, investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary research team.
Contribute to the efficient and safe operation of the Haematology Clinical Research Centre.

Cabrini’s Medical Imaging Department provides a 24-hour service seven days a week at our Malvern campus and services a variety of patients including outpatients, inpatients and ED patients. Modalities include General Xray, Cath Lab, Hybrid Lab, Angiography, CT, MRI, Mammography and DEXA. We also offer Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging.
Requisite training will be provided, with the successful applicant then able to participate in the night shift roster.
Responsibilities of the Medical Imaging Technologist Grade 3 include:
Providing care to the patient before, during and after the medical imaging examination, ensuring compassionate, competent care and service.
Examining the patient radiographically, as and when requested in writing by a qualified medical practitioner, according to the imaging protocols of the department or as directed by the consultant radiologist.
Performing and assisting with radiographic procedures while remaining conscious of the standards required and conforming to the ALARA principle to produce the highest diagnostic quality image(s).

Recent experience in a similar position with demonstrated experience in CT scanning (essential)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Medical Scientist to lead our Automated Chemistry area, overseeing quality, technical excellence and team capability within a high-performing tertiary pathology environment.
Reporting to the Principal Medical Scientist and with the assistance of Pathologists, the Principal Scientist and Automated Chemistry Scientists, you will be responsible for the performance of assays in the Automated area. You will ensure that accurate, high quality and timely results and reports are produced.
Key Responsibilities
Whilst no two days look the same in this role, day-to-day duties may include:
Oversee the Automated Chemistry section: participating in Quality Control and Assurance programs, whilst reviewing and recording non-conformances
Lead a small team of scientists and technical staff within the Automated area, assisting with maintaining the team’s training, education and competency
Ensure equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and record keeping is kept according to protocols
Oversee the usage and performance of the ABL90 blood gas instruments using AQURE, whilst assisting in the training of non-laboratory staff to operate the instrument where required
Drive continuous improvement through the development and implementation of new and improved methods in line with the quality objectives of Biochemistry
Maintain NATA-compliant procedures and documentation.

About the Biochemistry Department
The Biochemistry Department is a major section of St Vincent’s Pathology, performing and supporting the results of specialist studies and analysis including molecular biology (PCR), protein electrophoresis, immunochemistry, specific IgE assays, chromatography, immunosuppressant monitoring, breath testing, autoimmune serology, blood gases and automated general biochemical analysis. About the role
- The primary role is to perform, analyse and report oesophageal physiology tests: oesophageal high-resolution manometry, 24-hour pH studies and Endoflip.
- Be part of a specialist service – work alongside gastroenterologists and a multidisciplinary team within the Centre for Swallowing & Oesophageal Disorders, Department of Gastroenterology, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.
- Learn, contribute and grow – support the Centre’s large clinical research program, with opportunity to be supervised to obtain a higher degree by research (e.g. PhD).
- Technical skills and quality control – operate specialised equipment, troubleshoot technical issues with hardware, maintain high laboratory standards, infection control.
- Keep quality at the forefront – ensure accurate test results, strong quality assurance, and safe, patient-focused practice.
About you
- Human Physiology expertise – BSc or equivalent qualification with a strong foundation in Human Physiology.
- This is a patient-facing role, so you should be an excellent verbal communicator and enjoy interacting with and reassuring patients.
- You should be comfortable that the role involves performing invasive procedures as part of clinical measurement (insertion of manometry and pH catheters transnasally), training will be provided.

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Tissue Bank, including the supervision of the collection, processing, storage, retrieval, preparation and distribution of human biological specimens submitted to the Tissue Bank. The role will involve managing employees and liaising with physicians, surgeons, pathologists, ward and theatre nursing staff, medical laboratory scientists, biobank staff across the consortium, and researchers. Your Responsibilities
You will:
Support the coordination and day-to-day conduct of clinical trials across Cardiothoracic and Surgical Oncology
Assist with patient screening, recruitment, informed consent and ongoing trial participation
Maintain accurate and timely patient, trial, laboratory and regulatory documentation
Coordinate the collection, processing and management of research specimens and study data
Prepare and manage ethics and governance submissions, amendments and associated documentation
Liaise with patients, investigators, sponsors, Human Research Ethics Committees (HREC), Governance and other internal and external stakeholders
Support safety reporting and ensure trial activities comply with approved protocols, GCP and relevant ethical and regulatory requirements
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure the integrity and quality of clinical research data
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support safe, high-quality clinical research
Your Contribution
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Health Science or a related discipline
An interest in, or experience within, clinical research or clinical trials
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, clinicians, researchers and external stakeholders
An understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical research governance requirements, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
A current National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one

About the Cardiothoracic and Surgical Oncology Research Team
The Cardiothoracic and Surgical Oncology Research team supports the delivery of clinical research across a range of surgical specialties, including Cardiothoracic and Surgical Oncology, with research activities also extending across Breast, Plastics and Urology. Working collaboratively with doctors, nurses, researchers and other members of the multidisciplinary team, the department supports the safe and effective conduct of clinical trials in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and relevant ethical and regulatory standards. Your part in our Buderim Hospital team
As a Cardiac Radiographer within the Cath Lab, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. You will:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Be responsible for operating advanced fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging equipment to support procedures such as coronary angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker insertions, structural heart interventions, and vascular studies.
- You will ensure the delivery of precise, real-time imaging to assist cardiologists and vascular surgeons in decision-making and patient care.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, clinical governance, and quality assurance standards is essential.
- Provide patient preparation and support, image acquisition and archiving, and equipment troubleshooting.
- This position requires strong technical proficiency, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

- Bachelor of Applied Science - Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
- 2+ years experience as a Radiographer
- Prior experience in a Cath Lab, vascular or interventional radiology is highly valued, though training opportunities may be available for motivated candidates.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in interventional radiography particularly cardiac, vascular and pain desirable
- Possess a licence to use irradiating apparatus
