About the Role:
At Northgate Neuro Behavioural Unit, part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network's Older Persons Mental Health Service, every day is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of older people living with complex dementia with BPSD. What You'll Be Doing
As a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant, you'll design and deliver meaningful recreational and lifestyle activities that support the wellbeing, independence, and dignity of residents at Northgate Neuro Behavioural Unit. Working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, your day-to-day will include:
- Planning and facilitating individual and group activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals
- Contributing to lifestyle assessments and care planning in collaboration with nursing and allied health staff
- Building genuine relationships with residents, families, and carers to understand what brings each person joy and purpose
- Maintaining accurate documentation of activity participation and resident responses in line with SA Health standards
What You'll Bring
- A qualification in Leisure and Health, Community Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience delivering lifestyle programs in an aged care, mental health, or community setting
- An understanding of person-centred care and the specific needs of older people living with mental illness
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage people across varying levels of ability and cognition
- Willingness to work within SA Health's values framework and comply with relevant legislative requirements
- Current or ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and DCSI Aged Care Sector screening

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Forensic Court Liaison Officer within the NALHN Forensic Mental Health Service, you will provide specialist mental health assessment and consultation across court and justice settings in Adelaide's northern metro region. This is a fixed-term part-time contract through to 14 March 2027.
- Conduct mental health assessments of individuals appearing before court, providing timely clinical opinion to magistrates and legal stakeholders
- Liaise effectively with courts, legal representatives, SA Police, and community services to coordinate care pathways
- Prepare clear, accurate clinical reports suitable for court proceedings
- Support diversion from the criminal justice system where clinically appropriate, connecting consumers to relevant mental health services
What You'll Bring
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Social Worker with relevant mental health experience
- Demonstrated experience in forensic, acute, or community mental health settings
- Sound understanding of the Mental Health Act 2009 (SA) and relevant legislation governing court-referred assessments

About the Department / Program
The Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) is a 50 bed unit based at Dandenong Hospital that provides medium to long-term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation for people who have continuous and severe symptoms of mental illness. Monash Health SECU accepts people from the catchment areas of; Eastern Health, Peninsula Health, Monash Health and Alfred Health. Our collaborative multi-disciplinary team is made up of; Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical and Neuro Psychologists, Exercise Physiologist, Dietician, Music Therapist, Psychiatrists and Mental Health Nurses. The multi-disciplinary team provide treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation programs optimising individual function, for return to community living. NDIS plays an integral part in providing psychosocial support and care for our consumers and families during their stay supporting community transition.
About the Role
The position provides psychological services to consumers in the Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU). SECU is a 50 bed sub-acute adult psychiatric inpatient unit, based at Dandenong Hospital. The multi-disciplinary SECU team (MDT) provides medium to long-term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation to consumers who have unremitting and severe symptoms of mental illness or disorder, who are unable to be effectively treated in a less restrictive setting and are unable to live independently.
The focus of the position is to provide evidence-based psychological services to consumers of SECU who present with conditions including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and co-morbid substance use disorders, cognitive impairment and/or behaviours of concern.

About the Role
Join our Child & Family Program as a Grade 2 Social Worker and make a meaningful difference for children and families experiencing complex health and psychosocial challenges. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide specialist social work assessment, intervention, counselling and advocacy to children and families across the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia.
This is a varied community-based role where you’ll work alongside families to understand their individual circumstances, build on their strengths and connect them with the services and supports they need. Your work will include:
- Providing comprehensive psychosocial assessment and intervention
- Supporting families experiencing crisis, family violence and other complex circumstances
- Providing parenting support and advocacy
- Supporting families to navigate the NDIS and other complex service systems
- Connecting families with community services, housing, material aid and other practical supports
- Assessing and responding to risk in partnership with families and relevant services
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, child and family-centred care

About the Program
The Child & Family Program sits within Monash Children’s and provides multidisciplinary care focused on improving the health, wellbeing and developmental outcomes of children and families. Our team includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Dietitians, Counsellors, Family Support Workers, Community Development Workers and other allied health professionals.
Together, we support children and families through collaborative, evidence-based practice informed by the Social Model of Health, recognising the broader social, cultural and environmental factors that influence a child’s health and wellbeing. The program also includes Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies (HMHB) and works closely with health, education and community services to provide integrated support for families.
About You
You are an experienced and compassionate Social Worker who is passionate about supporting children, families and communities. You’re confident working with psychosocial complexity and understand that improving a child’s health and wellbeing often means looking beyond their immediate clinical needs to the broader circumstances affecting their family.
You will bring:
- A Bachelor or qualifying Master of Social Work, or equivalent qualification recognised by the AASW
- Eligibility for ordinary membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Experience in psychosocial assessment, intervention, counselling and care coordination
- Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk children and families, including refugee and culturally diverse communities
- Knowledge of complex service systems including NDIS, family violence and Child Protection
- Strong risk assessment, communication and advocacy skills
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
