Our significant cardiac expansion is now open, bringing together a state-of-the-art Cardiac Hybrid Theatre, expanded Cardiac Investigations Unit and dedicated 12-bed Cardiology Ward. These contemporary facilities are increasing access to specialist cardiac care locally and allowing more Central Queenslanders to receive the investigations, procedures and treatment they need closer to home.
You'll join a growing multidisciplinary team of Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiologists, Nursing, Administration and other health professionals, with opportunities to work across an expanding range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac services, develop advanced skills and contribute to the ongoing growth of cardiac care in Central Queensland.
About you:
We are seeking a Specialist Cardiologist with contemporary Interventional Cardiology experience, including current PCI practice and participation in primary PCI services, together with strong General Cardiology capability.
Importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to contribute beyond the procedural role – a specialist who is excited by the opportunity to help establish a new service from its commencement, develop capability and influence the future of specialist cardiac care for the region.

What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $564,939 p.a. is comprised of:
• A salary rate between $266,839 - $282,912 p.a. (L25-L27)
• A salary rate between $223,136 - $259,187 p.a. (L18-L25)

Professional Development Leave of 3.6 weeks per annum
Professional Development Allowance of $22,145 per annum
Motor vehicle, overtime, recall and on-call allowances as applicable

The Package
Total remuneration value of up to $284,962 p.a. is comprised of:

Rockhampton Hospital is the region’s major referral hospital, offering a wide range of specialty services at Clinical Service Capability Framework (CSCF) levels 4 and 5. Facilities in Gladstone, Emerald and Biloela provide specialty services at CSCF levels 2 and 3. Across rural Central Queensland, multipurpose health services and outpatient clinics deliver essential services such as emergency care, general medicine, primary health and aged care at CSCF levels 1 and 2.
The Location
Working out of Rockhampton, the Beef Capital of Australia and economic heart of Central Queensland, you’ll join a population of over 80,000 residents living up life in over 300 days of sunshine.

Essential Criteria
An MBBS or equivalent to enable registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Fellowship with an Australian Medical Specialist College is mandatory.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is highly desirable for this role however not mandated.
The ability to work in a clinical capacity (0.2 FE) in your recognised specialty with the Central Queensland Health would be highly desirable.
Current ALS certification and enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in the Senior Medical/ DMS on call roster. The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Specialists and Non-specialist Senior Medical Officers on staff. This is reviewed on a three-yearly basis.
The Package
Total package up to $543,581 p.a.
Additional benefits to this role include:
- Medical Managers Allowance / Clinical Managers allowance is payable dependent upon incumbent’s qualifications.
- Professional Development Leave – 3.6 weeks p.a.
- Professional Development Allowance - $21,500 p.a.

Attraction and Retention Allowance – up to 50% of base salary dependent on qualifications and granted private practice arrangements
