Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience and working towards a specialist qualification in Critical Care Medicine including Intensive Care medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, or qualified specialist.
- Registered as a trainee with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand or equivalent and completed Primary exam.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the critical disciplines of intensive care , with advanced airway skills from anaesthesia training in an equivalent (tertiary) health care setting.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise including evidence of training/competency in advance life support, and advanced trauma life support.
- Demonstrated teamwork within a multidisciplinary team, time management and problem solving skills in a complex clinical environment.
- Preparedness and ability to work independently in a supervised environment and partake in the Advanced Trainee (Senior) Roster.
- Demonstrated interest and willingness to teach Junior Medical Staff and be involved in research.

What you'll be doing
Provisional Fellow in Obstetric Medicine. This post is accredited for training for the achievement of an Obstetric Medicine Certificate. To provide effective medical services to women with high-risk pregnancies under consultant supervision pre, during and after pregnancy.
To develop expertise in the management of medical disorders complicating pregnancy and the investigation and management of high-risk obstetric complications in a tertiary referral center.
To participate in a training program to meet the requirements for a Certificate in Obstetric Medicine.

Infectious Diseases Advanced Trainees provide a high standard of clinical care to Infectious Diseases inpatients, outpatients, and consultation patients, under the supervision of specialist Infectious Diseases physicians and Medical Microbiologists and in the context of fulfilling the requirements of the RACP for Advanced Training in Infectious Diseases. The role also includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments.
Trainees will fulfil the service requirements of their department, which may include attendance and participation in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical meetings, journal clubs; supervision and education of junior medical staff; and active participation in antimicrobial stewardship, infection control and/or ambulatory care programs. Each hospital will have differing service requirements reflecting the individual identity of each institution and the different populations (e.g. spinal or burns patients) and sub-specialities (e.g. hepatitis or HIV) accommodated at each of the different hospitals.
The Advanced Trainee will also be involved in clinical management of patients in the outpatient setting which may include Immunology/Infectious Disease, HIV, Hepatitis, and Sexual Health Clinics.

The Unaccredited Trainee will medically manage conditions such as acute and chronic coronary disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease including endocarditis, and hypertension, with initial management of arrhythmias and pericardial disease, basic adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension, and prevention of heart disease; and undertake supervised general medical management of patients admitted to the Cardiology department.
The Unaccredited Trainee will undertake dedicated terms for procedures including coronary angiography, echocardiography, electrophysiology and other procedural and clinical aspects relevant to Cardiology. Networked positions may include rural, regional or outer metropolitan rotations.

1. Current medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). FRACS in General Surgery and/or other specialist recognition as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973, with post fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard in all aspects of patient care including non-operative care, pre and post -operative care and demonstrated endo- surgical and minimally invasive surgical skills relevant to Endocrine and General Surgery with the ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice. This position requires a Surgeon with experience and expertise in Endocrine, Head & Neck Surgery and Surgical Oncology with particular emphasis on Melanoma surgery. The successful applicant will have emergency general surgery and trauma responsibilities and within the unit provide leadership in surgical training and contribute to Head and Neck, Melanoma and Endocrine MOTs.
3. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
4. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development. Participation in Morbidity & Mortality and Multidisciplinary meetings. Participation in development of local area guidelines in Endocrine Surgery. Demonstrated ability and commitment to be involved in clinical and/or lab based research activities.
5. Preparedness to participate in Trauma/General Surgery on-call roster, including sub specialty on-call.
6. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
7. Demonstrated leadership qualities and a willingness to be involved in administration duties as needed.
8. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an Area level, if credentialed.

What You'll be doing
Provide clinical management, treatment, and forensic care of patients in SWSLHD Sexual Assault Services (based at Liverpool Hospital), under your care. This care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the SWS LHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. The position operates on-call, after-hours in 12 hour shifts.

About The Opportunity
Bowral Hospital is offering an exciting Staff Specialist opportunity for an experienced Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to play a key role in delivering high-quality care to the Southern Highlands community. In this role, you will provide contemporary, evidence-based Obstetric and Gynaecological services across inpatient, ambulatory and on-call settings.
You will contribute to the delivery of safe, patient-centred care through effective clinical assessment, management and documentation, while supporting multidisciplinary collaboration and continuity of care. You will actively participate in clinical governance activities including quality improvement, peer review, patient safety initiatives, accreditation processes and compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
The successful applicant will also contribute to the education, supervision and mentorship of junior medical officers and medical students, supporting training programs aligned with NSW Health, SWSLHD and HETI requirements. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team, contribute to service development and innovation, and make a meaningful impact on Women's Health services within a growing regional community.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
Bowral provides pregnancy and birthing care for approximately 550 women a year as a Level 3 Maternity service. We have strong links with Campbelltown and Liverpool Hospitals for onward referral where complexity exists. We also run an outpatient gynaecology service, providing minor procedures, colposcopy, family planning and termination services, with access to operating theatres providing laparoscopic procedures up RANZCOG level 4.

1. Current medical practitioner registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Applicants must be eligible for Medical Indemnity Coverage (Levels 2-5). Applications are also welcomed from candidates eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway who obtained their specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology qualification in the United Kingdom or Ireland and are able to meet the supervised practice requirements of that pathway.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
6. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level
7. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster
8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
