Allied Health Assistant (Casual) Ipswich & Brisbane South-West
At Power of Grace Care Services (POGCS), we help people work towards goals that matter in their everyday lives. We're looking for an Allied Health Assistant who enjoys working directly with people and helping them build their skills, confidence and independence.
This casual role will support clients across Redbank Plains, Redbank, Springfield and surrounding Ipswich and Brisbane south-west suburbs. Sessions may take place in clients' homes, schools, clinics or the community, depending on their needs.
About the role
You'll work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapist, delivering therapy activities they have designed and delegated. You'll help clients practise skills between therapist appointments, notice how they're progressing and keep the supervising clinician informed.
At POGCS, this means:
- Delivering practical, engaging activities that support each client's NDIS and therapy goals.
- Following the delegated therapy plan and asking for guidance when something is unclear or a client's needs change.
- Preparing equipment and the environment so sessions are safe and ready to run.
- Recording observations, collecting progress information and completing clear, timely session notes in Splose.
- Sharing feedback with supervising clinicians and participating in case discussions and debriefs.
- Building respectful relationships with clients, families and their support teams while protecting privacy, dignity and choice.
You'll need to be comfortable managing your session preparation and documentation while staying connected with the clinicians supervising your work.
About you
You have completed, or are actively studying, a Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Allied Health Assistance, Individual Support, Disability or a related field.
You're reliable, organised and able to follow structured instructions. You communicate clearly, enjoy helping people learn and can adapt activities within the guidance provided by the supervising clinician.
You'll also need:
- A current Working With Children Check appropriate to Queensland.
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one before commencing relevant work.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Basic computer skills and confidence completing electronic records.
- The ability to travel between client locations, including driver's license and vehicle registration.
- A commitment to ongoing training, supervision, POGCS policies and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
Previous experience in disability or NDIS services, and familiarity with allied health therapy activities, would be an advantage.
Working with us
You'll contribute to a multidisciplinary team, with supervision and opportunities to discuss client progress and develop your skills. Casual hours will depend on client needs and your availability.
We're looking for someone who can start as soon as the required checks are complete.
