About the role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Wellbeing & Health In-Reach Coordinator is responsible for facilitating identification of health, wellbeing and social needs and the coordination of appropriate early intervention, assessment and referral to services of school aged children and young people.
Working closely with education professionals in learning and support and leadership teams within schools, you will help coordinate healthcare needs for children and young people, to optimise health outcomes.
You will be involved in coordinating care in Walgett High School, Walgett Primary School, Goodooga Central School, Lightning Ridge Central School and Collarenebri Central School.
This role sits within the Service Delivery Directorate - Women’s, Children & Families Division, and is supported districtwide by likeminded and experienced professionals.

About the role
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide expert clinical consultancy and leadership to strengthen the quality, safety and cultural responsiveness of care delivered through Aboriginal Health Service Unit (AHSU) and Aboriginal Health Care Coordination (AHCC) services.
This is an opportunity to combine advanced nursing practice, cultural knowledge and service improvement to help shape culturally safe, coordinated care for Aboriginal patients, families and communities.
Working alongside Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Aboriginal Health Workers, nursing, medical and allied health colleagues, you will contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing development of AHSU services across the region, supporting a multidisciplinary approach that places Aboriginal patients, families, culture and community at the centre of care.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Providing specialist clinical advice and supporting complex patient care and transition planning.
- Strengthening continuity of care across hospital, community and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service settings.
- Mentoring and supporting staff to develop clinical capability and culturally safe practice.
- Identifying clinical risks and contributing to quality, safety and practice improvement.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who understands that culturally safe care is built through relationships, listening, respect and accountability to Aboriginal patients, families and communities.
You will bring:
- Advanced clinical capability and sound professional judgement.
- Cultural humility, professional integrity and a commitment to culturally safe care.
- Confidence to advocate for patients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- A proactive and approachable style, with the ability to turn identified gaps into practical improvements.
- The ability to build constructive partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and other community partners.
Knowledge of local systems, AHSU processes, project management, evaluation and education can be further developed in the role.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrated strong connection to Aboriginal culture, Country and community, with the ability to apply cultural knowledge, protocols and perspectives in a professional health setting.
- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in this specialty field.

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Midwifery Specialist Lactation Midwife provides high‑quality, individualised, woman‑centred lactation and breastfeeding care within a supportive multidisciplinary team, exercising extended clinical autonomy and sound clinical decision‑making. Delivers direct clinical care as required to maintain safe and effective service delivery and respond to clinical priorities across the maternity service. Work collaboratively as an advocate for women and families and as a role model, resource, and mentor to, midwifery staff.
Contribute to the ongoing development of lactation services by implementing, maintaining, and evaluating policies, standards, and clinical practice guidelines relating to lactation and infant feeding including Baby friendly health Initiative (BFHI) accreditation.
Selection Criteria
- Current midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of three (3) years full time equivalent post midwifery qualification experience.
- Current International Board‑Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification, or actively working towards IBCLC certification, with a demonstrated willingness and commitment to maintaining IBCLC certification, including meeting ongoing professional development and recertification requirements.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and recent clinical experience in midwifery care, including the assessment and management of complex breastfeeding and lactation issues for women and babies within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.

Assistant In Nursing (AIN) Children’s Short Stay Unit - Permanent Full-Time The Children’s Short Stay Unit (CSSU) provides care for up to 32-bed acute paediatric inpatient unit caring for children with a wide range of medical conditions. Working closely with the Emergency Department, CSSU provides care for patients with respiratory illnesses, infections, seizures, gastroenteritis, and other common childhood conditions, with most patients staying up to 72 hours. An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join the multidisciplinary team within the Children's Short Stay Unit (CSSU) at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The AIN provides support to nursing staff in delivering high-quality, family-centred care to infants, children and adolescents. Working collaboratively within a dynamic clinical environment, the successful candidate will assist with patient care activities, maintain a safe and supportive environment, and contribute to positive patient experiences. The Children's Short Stay Unit is a fast-paced service providing care for children requiring short-term observation, treatment and assessment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical skills while working alongside experienced nursing and medical teams dedicated to delivering exceptional paediatric care.

Essential Requirement: Applicants must have completed HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care). Only applicants holding this qualification will be considered for this position.
Roster Requirement: Successful applicants must be available to work a 7-day rotating roster.
What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) role assists in the provision of basic nursing care, working within a plan of care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) within a team setting. AIN’s are not to be allocated their own patients. AIN’s are not to be assigned patients where one to one therapeutic nursing supervision is prescribed.
The AIN is responsible for assisting in the delivery of quality individualised care to patients at The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) within the guidelines set by the NSW Department of Health, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Framework, The SCHN – Division of Nursing and within the limits of the AIN position description.
The AIN will:
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Demonstrate ethical behaviour in their performance
•Understand and respect patients’ rights.
• Provide evidence of completion of annual mandatory training.
• Practice within the NSW Health guidelines, the position description and guidelines for the SCHN and are required to adhere to Policies and Procedures.
• Adhere to the NSW Health Code of Conduct.

The Eurobodalla Regional Hospital (ERH) is a new hospital currently under construction on the stunning Southern NSW coast, set to open in 2027 bringing state-of-the-art facilities and expanded services to the region.

What you'll be doing
The Assistant in Nursing works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, supports the nursing team in the delivery of person-centered care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve people focused quality care.
Selection Criteria
- Current Health Service Assistant Certificate III (Acute Care) or equivalent, or having recent equivalent experience or have completed 1 or more year's training as an undergraduate nursing student.
- Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of paediatric medical patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in paediatric practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Paediatric CMO is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
It is expected that the CMO has been exposed to all aspects of general paediatric medicine and is able to competently assess children presenting to the Emergency Department and make appropriate provisional diagnoses and management plans. The CMO is also expected to be proficient at both neonatal and paediatric resuscitation. The CMO will be exposed to a broad range of developmental and behavioural problems and they are expected to undertake the assessments as part of the multidisciplinary teams and independently where required.
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the medical officer's skills, knowledge and experience. The CMO will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health district are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
Essential requirements
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Minimum four years experience in general paediatrics in a metropolitan hospital or tertiary paediatric centre with demonstrated ability to work at CMO level.
- Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in the last 2 years in a setting appropriate to the needs of the position.
- Demonstrated experience and training in paediatric procedural and resuscitation skills including venepuncture, cannulation, bladder catheterisation and lumbar puncture.
- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education.
- This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency.
- If the incumbent's registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role
- Valid Working with Children Check, cleared National Police Check.
