Exciting Casual Opportunity: Community Support Worker
In the remote communities of Cleve, Cowell, and Kimba, a Community Support Worker does more than complete a checklist - you help someone stay in the home they love, on their own terms. At Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN), your presence in Eastern Eyre is the thread that connects clients to their independence, their community, and the life they've built.
Your Role in the Community
Working within EFNLHN's Consumer Directed Care model, you'll deliver support shaped by each client's own goals and preferences. No two days are identical, and that's by design. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility with respect and dignity
- Performing household tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and minor gardening
- Providing reliable transport to appointments and community outings
- Supporting social engagement and activities that contribute to client wellbeing
- At the WHA4 level, delivering personal care to clients with more complex support needs
What You Bring
- A warm, empathetic approach and the confidence to work independently across small remote communities
- Sound communication skills and genuine respect for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Experience supporting aged, frail, or disabled individuals in a home or community setting
- The ability to work as part of a close-knit, community-based team within EFNLHN's Eastern Eyre service area
- For appointment at WHA4 level: Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community)
Why Eastern Eyre, Why EFNLHN
EFNLHN serves one of South Australia's most geographically expansive health networks, and that scale means your contribution is tangible and recognised. As a SA Health employee, you'll have access to salary packaging benefits that meaningfully increase your take-home pay, alongside the professional backing of a networked health system. The work is casual and community-facing - offering genuine variety, real human connection, and the satisfaction of knowing your shifts directly shape someone's quality of life. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and those with lived experience in community care are strongly encouraged to apply.
Apply Before 30 June 2027
Submit your application via the SA Health careers portal, including a current resume and a cover letter outlining your experience in community or personal care. To learn more about day-to-day life in the role, reach out directly to the EFNLHN Eastern Eyre - Cleve, Cowell, Kimba Community and Allied Health team. We'd love to hear from you.

Exciting Casual Opportunity: Community Support Worker
In the remote outback community of Coober Pedy, the work of a Community Care Worker carries real weight. At Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN), you'll be the person who helps someone stay in the home they love - offering practical support, genuine connection, and the kind of care that makes independence possible.
What You'll Be Doing
Working within EFNLHN's Consumer Directed Care model, you'll deliver support tailored to each client's goals and preferences - because here, the consumer shapes the care. Shifts, duties, and frequency are guided by the people you support, giving your work real purpose and variety. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility in a respectful and dignified manner
- Performing household tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and minor gardening
- Providing reliable transport to appointments and community outings
- Supporting social engagement and activities that contribute to client wellbeing
- At the WHA4 level, delivering personal care to clients with more complex support needs
What You'll Bring
- A warm, empathetic approach and the confidence to work independently in the community
- Sound communication skills and genuine respect for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Experience supporting aged, frail, or disabled individuals
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, community-based team
- For appointment at WHA4 level: Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community)
Why Coober Pedy, Why EFNLHN
EFNLHN serves one of Australia's most distinctive and geographically vast regions, and Coober Pedy is at the heart of it. As a SA Health employee, you'll have access to salary packaging benefits that meaningfully increase your take-home pay, alongside the professional support of a broader health network. This is a casual role with genuine flexibility, and the Consumer Directed Care model means your day-to-day work reflects the real preferences of the people you serve - not a one-size-fits-all schedule. If you're looking for a role where your contribution is visible, valued, and felt directly by the community around you, this is it. This position is available through to 30 June 2027.
