Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) is a world leading centre for paediatric organ transplantation with over 500 livers, 300 kidneys, and more recently islets and hearts transplanted. In addition to these clinical activities, SCHN is leading globally significant research programs in organ transplantation and gene therapy, many collaboratively with other local health districts (LHDs), universities and medical research institutes (MRIs). The Children's Centre for Transplantation and Research (CCTR) aims to create a world class multi-disciplinary space that is not only transformational for children requiring organ transplantation, but also for those with conditions amenable to gene therapy. The Project Manager is a newly created position within the CCTR at the SCHN, to drive establishment and implementation of the CCTR, and ensure a safe, fit for purpose, on time delivery of the initiative, to agreed scope, and within budget. Primary responsibilities of the role is to: Provide leadership and project management for the above initiative in relation to redevelopment and research matters. Provide strategic and operational advice to the lead clinicians and researchers working on the project.
- Tertiary qualifications in science or business and/or equivalent experience in a medical research or healthcare program delivery role
- Demonstrated experience in project management, developing and managing program budgets, implementing risk management plans and managing issues.
- Experience leading teams of varying expertise on major programs to deliver high quality, customer focussed outcomes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise to meet defined time frames.
- Demonstrated advanced level analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide high level influencing, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively and develop strong working relationships within a multidisciplinary environment
- Exceptional written communication skills and demonstrated experience in developing high level pitch and strategy documents.
- Proven conflict and Risk Management experience - ability to work through issues and experience identifying, managing and communicating project risks

Qualifications and Requirements
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of an Australian specialist medical college, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is desirable, but not essential.
- Proven ability to function as part of a large results oriented senior leadership and management team and to work successfully with other professionals in the leadership and management of health care services in a manner that reflects Excellence and the values of the NSW Health Service.
- Demonstrated understanding of industrial, legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare and the complexities of providing healthcare services within the NSW public health system.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial management and experience in managing budgets, costing services, negotiating and managing contracts.
- Knowledge of current professional standards of practice including "Framework for Managing Quality of Health Services in NSW", the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, NSW Work Health & Safety Act and NSW Health Enterprise Wide Risk Management Policy & Framework, HETI and College requirements.
- Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills including superior written and presentation skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Experience with, and commitment to, clinical governance and clinical best practice, quality improvement and ensuring psychological safety. Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the medical workforce issues that may impact Armidale Rural Referral Hospital and an ability to develop appropriate strategies to address same.

About the roleAs a Level 5 Rural Referral Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to care for patients presenting with a broad range of acute, complex and life-threatening conditions.

What you'll be doing- Undertake rapid assessment, triage and ongoing monitoring of patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration, trauma presentations, medical emergencies and resuscitation events.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products and other treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform and assist with emergency procedures, including intravenous cannulation, wound management, ECGs and specimen collection.
- Participate in advanced life support and resuscitation interventions.
