What you'll be doing
To provide effective medical services to Paediatric patients and their families under supervision, while developing expertise in Paediatric practice, in a complex clinical environment. The position would be well suited to a Senior Resident Medical Officer pursuing further general Paediatric training or General Practice training.

Selection Criteria:
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- At least two years working as a Medical Officer, completing a Paediatric rotation is preferable
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career pathway involving paediatric medicine. This may include previous clinical paediatric experience, completion of or plan to undertake any courses in paediatric medical care.
- Ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrated experience in taking comprehensive patient histories, performing clinical examinations and accurately documenting in patient records.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the appropriate management of the patient.
- Ability to demonstrate accurate decision-making and to seek further advice in accordance with level of experience and showing an awareness of limitations.
- Proven ability to organise, plan and manage competing tasks

The 0.5 FTE Clinical Ethics Provisional Fellowship at The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) is an advanced training position in Clinical Ethics. The Fellow will help provide input and participate in further developing the SCHN Clinical Ethics Support Service (CESS) which is acknowledged as an important service within the Network. The Fellowship is a valuable learning experience both for the Fellow and the Network, in developing and sharing ethics capacity at all organisational levels, and reflecting on ‘what we ought to do, not just what we can do’ in clinical care.
The Fellow will be involved in all five domains of the SCHN CESS: education, clinical ethics consultation, embedding ethics into organisational policy, research and academic connections and clinical ethics service planning and development. The fellow will assist in planning and scheduling Clinical Ethics meetings and forums and participate in education, service delivery and research with support from the Clinical Ethicist and Clinical Ethics Medical Lead. Advanced training in bioethics is currently offered via universities as a Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate, Master's degree or PhD studies, all of which require major commitment of time and money.
This Network role involves dividing time equitably and attending activities and meetings at both The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW), and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH). The Fellowship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain experience and training in Clinical Ethics. The Fellow will also contribute to the important development of the SCHN Clinical Ethics Support Service.
The Provisional Fellow position provides Advanced Trainees an opportunity to further their experience and ethical analysis skills in clinical ethics consultation, where an ethical question, disagreement or values tensions have arisen in clinical care. They will learn to apply ethics frameworks to address dilemmas in clinical practice. The position also provides an opportunity for further training and the development of skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training, as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals.
The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community. Job sharing arrangements for some positions may be considered. Trainees who have completed their FRACP requirements may not be eligible for this position. At times the trainee may be requested to provide clinical support across The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

The Marie Bashir Clinical Research Provisional Fellowship in Adolescent Health was named after the former Governor of New South Wales and former Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Professor Marie Bashir. Orthopaedics is a growing specialty based on the migration from COVID to the Central Coast as well as our aging population. Challenges arise with trauma, arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty. - a 24 hour Emergency Department equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Wagga Wagga with other specialists or GPs across the state through the Critical Care Advisory Service, ensuring you get the care you need.
- a purpose-built Health Services Hub which opened in 2021. The new facility, linked to the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, offers a range of important services from a single site.The multi-storey building accommodates acute aged care inpatient beds, rehabilitation inpatient beds, an older person's mental inpatient unit, Hospital in the Home, expanded renal dialysis unit, expanded oral (dental) service, 60 clinic rooms and treatment spaces for allied health, outpatient, and community health services. About the role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of orthopaedic patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Wagga Wagga Health Service has undergone a $431 million redevelopment. It was delivered in three stages and completed in 2021. The health campus includes:
- a 325 bed referral hospital called Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. Opened in 2017, it supports over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.
- a 24-hour Emergency Department equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Wagga Wagga with other specialists or GPs across the state through the Critical Care Advisory Service, ensuring you get the care you need.
- a purpose-built Health Services Hub which opened in 2021. The new facility, linked to the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, offers a range of important services from a single site. The multi-storey building accommodates acute aged care inpatient beds, rehabilitation inpatient beds, an older person's mental inpatient unit, Hospital in the Home, expanded renal dialysis unit, expanded oral (dental) service, 60 clinic rooms and treatment spaces for allied health, outpatient, and community health services. There is also a Staff Hub and 30 staff meeting rooms of varying sizes with an electronic booking system and the latest presentation technology; a new lecture theatre and two nearby conference rooms, new clinical education and training spaces, including a simulation room and skills area and facilities for virtual training; a library, a dedicated Aboriginal meeting room and cultural courtyard; cafe; new multi-faith space; and facilities for corporate volunteers. There is also secure parking for fleet vehicles under the Health Services Hub.

Where you'll be working
South East Regional Hospital (SERH) is a newly built, architecturally designed hospital in Bega with expansive views of the Bega Valley. It is 429 kilometres South of Sydney, 228 kilometres from Canberra or 174 kilometres from the NSW snow fields. Nearby Merimbula (32 kilometres) offers a regional airport with daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne. With many beautiful coastal towns, national parks, snow fields and beaches within a short driving distance, it is the perfect location for those looking to for a family-friendly area with great work-life balance. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy including fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, walking, mountain biking and whale watching to just name a few. South East Regional Hospital is the regional referral centre for the expansive south coast regions from Bateman's Bay to Cooma and down past the Victorian border to Mallacoota. The state of the art hospital is equipped with 3 operating theatres, ICU, 5 inpatient wards and outpatient services. There is also a dedicated office for the Orthopaedic registrars as well as a shared JMO lounge. Rural unaccredited trainees will also be eligible to apply for scholarships through HETI to help with attending courses and conferences. Fully furnished shared accommodation is usually provided to trainee's by the hospital.
What you'll be doing
The Orthopaedic SRMO is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Orthopaedic inpatients, providing an on-call service for SERH plus 3 surrounding hospitals within the health district. There is a good mix of elective and emergency operating with approximately 1200 operations performed annually. The SRMO will be responsible for the supervision of the resident medical officer as well as rotating medical students from the ANU Medical School.
The Orthopaedic Department is staffed by 2 unaccredited trainee registrars and 1 AOA accredited trainee registrar with a regular 1 in 4 on-call rosters with occasional 1 in 3 on-calls during periods of leave. The well-supported unit allows unaccredited trainees to gain a well-rounded experience in Orthopaedics. The job allows trainees/SRMOs to rotate daily through being on-call, managing acute orthopaedic emergencies, elective and emergency operating lists and outpatient clinics. There are a wide range of educational activities on offer including regular journal clubs, weekly X-ray meetings, teaching, quarterly Morbidity and Mortality meetings and the opportunity to take on research projects. This position would suit both an experienced trainee looking to hone their operative skills with a view to apply for the AOA Training Program or a junior trainee looking for a well-balanced introduction into Orthopaedic Surgery.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- Demonstrated ability to complete rotations as allocated and required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to further self-education and professional development
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)

What you'll be doing
To provide a high standard of clinical care to Infectious Diseases inpatients, outpatients and consultation patients in the context of fulfilling the requirements of the RACP for advanced training in Infectious Diseases.
To fulfil the service requirements of the Department. These may include attendance and participation in multidisciplinary meetings; clinical meetings; journal clubs, supervision and education of junior medical staff and active participation in antibiotic stewardship, infection control and/or ambulatory care programs. Please note that each hospital will have differing service requirements reflecting the individual identity of each institution as well as the different populations (e.g. spinal or burns patients) and sub-specialities (e.g. hepatitis or HIV) accommodated at each of the different hospitals.
The Advanced Trainee is also expected to be involved in Clinical management of Outpatient Clinics including Immunology/Infectious Disease, HIV and Sexual Health Clinics. All consultations to be entered into the database in the Department weekly. The position is also accredited for advanced training in Immunology by the RACP.

Concord Hospital Haematology Clinical Research Unit is seeking highly motivated Provisional Fellows to join the Haematology Clinical Research Team
The positions are open to qualified candidates in Clinical Haematology. Opportunities are available to develop your own research projects including enrolment in a higher research degree if desired. Fellows are encouraged to develop an area of research interest and to present at local, state and national meetings where appropriate.
1.Clinical Research Unit (CRU) Fellow
a.The CRU Fellow manages patients treated in clinical trials across all haematological malignancies. They will gain valuable experience in managing patients treated with bispecific/trispecific antibodies and novel small molecules in phase I, II and III trials. They will work closely with the CAR T fellow in care of patients in CAR T trials.
b.They will provide both routine and urgent medical assessment and clinical care to patients screened & participating in clinical trials as a certified Investigator within Concord Haematology’s Clinical Research Unit (CRU).
c.They will also be involved in supporting observational studies and disease registries.
The Concord Haematology Clinical Research Unit (HCRU)
Concord HCRU is a large and growing clinical research unit which supports Concord Haematology department goal to deliver “world class care locally”. Housed in the purpose built Concord Cancer Centre, we undertake early to late phase clinical trials including CAR-T clinical trials and first-in-human phase I trials. The trials portfolio extends across a broad range of malignancies (lymphoma, leukaemia, myeloma, MDS) and other haematological disorders (thrombosis, autoimmune disorders). At any one time, the HCRU manages more than 120 studies either recruiting or in follow up from phase I-IV.
Under the leadership of the HCRU Haematologist Director and Manager, the HCRU supports 9 clinical haematologists and employs 13 clinical research nurses / study coordinators, 4 administrative staff responsible for ethics and regulatory requirements as well as 4 medical student data managers, and patient investigators. The Unit has a strong ethos of community engagement and its investigator-initiated research is supported by the Foundation for A Bloody Great Cause!

Our ideal candidates will be PGY4+ at the time of commencement and able to commence employment within the current clinical year. Candidates will be required to participate in a 24/7 roster that includes day, evening and night shifts.
Education: We offer weekly education sessions, facilitated by Dr Martin Duffy (ACEM Educator of the year 2021), including simulation, clinical skills, case reviews, and buddy shifts with FACEM. SRMOs are supported by EMET Lismore Hub providing access to multiple workshops including paediatric emergencies, procedural skills, ultrasound and airway management.
Career Progression: Following your Unaccredited year, you can progress to Emergency Medicine Training at Lismore Base Hospital. LBH is accredited for 36 months of training as a Trainee Stage 1-3, 6 months as Trainee Stage 4 (Lismore ED), and 3 months as Trainee Stage 4 (non-ED Medical Education). Our ED Registrar positions offer opportunities to rotate to ACEM accredited terms in Retrieval, Anaesthetics, ICU, Medical Education and Ultrasound.

Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service. The Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) Emergency Department (ED) sees over 40,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is a regional trauma centre.
The department includes modern facilities such as a 4-bed resuscitation and procedure bay, acute zone, an ED short stay unit (EDSSU), fast tract and medical imaging services.
LBH ED also supports Richmond Network hospitals including Ballina District Hospital (18,000 presentations per annum) and Casino Memorial District Hospital (14,000 presentations per annum), and Multipurpose Centres located at Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville and Bonalbo.
We are an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney and Bond University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers.

What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. The Medical Officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.

Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist in Rheumatology to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!
This role will provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Rheumatology, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Rheumatology Department and Hospital as required.
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is one of Australia’s leading quaternary referral centres and is a principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. The Rheumatology department is one of the largest in the country and offers world class inpatient and outpatient facilities, clinical services, teaching and research opportunities. Co-located with Orthopaedic colleagues in the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics (IRO) building, the outpatient multidisciplinary facilities include radiology, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, bone mineral density service, rheumatology infusion centre, crystal microscopy/ capillaroscopy/musculoskeletal ultrasound/percutaneous muscle biopsy, pain services, and a world class research unit. Our staff work collaboratively to deliver best practice and are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Rheumatology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Position will be available from February 2027. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from this date, may be considered.

This is a Visiting Medical officer position in Anaesthesia in a Level 6 Adult Hospital caring for high acuity and complexity patients. The Visiting Medical Officer will be part of a cohesive anaesthetic team who provides specialist anaesthetic services to a broad range of specialities. This will involve collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services provided are safe and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Depending on the skills and experience there may be an opportunity to participate in the cardiothoracic anaesthetic service. The Visiting Medical Officer may also be credentialed to provide anaesthesia services to the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Professor Marie Bashir Centre and Sydney Dental Hospital.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.

CRGH Geriatric Medicine is a busy and innovative department providing acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community care for older, frailer and multi-morbid patients. The Department provides high quality specialist Geriatric Medicine care, optimising comorbidities and ensuring safe and well-integrated transitions of care. Geriatricians provide care across a range of settings including inpatient, outpatient, community Telehealth and residential aged care facilities (RACFs). Although this position will be based at Concord Hospital, the role will be cross-credentialed across other Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) facilities and work at other SLHD facilities (as requested by the Clinical Director) may be required.

Where you'll be working
South East Regional Hospital (SERH) is part of the Bega Valley Health Service within the Southern Coastal Network. SERH is a 99 bed hospital and offers emergency medicine; surgery (orthopaedics, urology, ophthalmology, general surgery, ENT surgery, obstetrics); acute inpatient services including: fully staffed intensive care unit, subacute rehabilitation (SARU), paediatric, maternity and mental health beds; renal dialysis and oncology outpatient clinics; hospital in the home (HITH); pathology collection; pharmacy; and medical imaging (x-ray, CT and ultrasound).

What you'll be doing
Provide best practice evidence based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice
Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.
Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.

Selection Criteria:
- Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent overseas qualification either eligible for Expedited Specialist Pathway or the ANZCA Specialist Pathway
- Registered or eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated current clinical experience in Anaesthesia at an appropriate level.
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadership.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical research, simulation and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
