About the role:
The St Vincent’s Hospital Addiction Medicine Specialist position provides clinical leadership, supports specialty training, and promotes patient safety and quality across the Service, Drug Health, the Stream, and the Hospital. The position proactively seeks to drive cross-service and cross-speciality expert care and training within and without the hospital.
The position provides specialist clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team which may be in inpatient, outpatient and hospital liaison services. The position also provides state-wide clinical care and leadership into the ADS Telehealth Service, the Service’s telephony lines (Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service), and drives the Service’s Collaborative Care approaches through leadership of outpatient services and liaison with internal and external providers

Selection Criteria:
- Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Possess Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians or other relevant Australasian Specialist College including Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Addiction Psychiatry certificate;
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Addiction Medicine commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position;
- Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience;
- Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment;
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

The Kids Rehab department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead are seeking a Permanent 0.7 FTE (28 Hours per week) Staff Specialist to join their team.
What you'll be doing
Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The primary roles will be the AMO for children with movement disorders such as cerebral palsy and acquired injuries such as brain injuries in the Kids Rehab Services.
Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.
Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
The Staff Specialist will ensure that;
• Clinical Services are focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families.
• Research and teaching is undertaken and focused on the area of Rehabilitation.
• The Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine is appointed to provide specialist medical officer involvement in the interdisciplinary care and long term follow-up of children and adolescents with complex rehabilitation needs, ensuring transition to adult based services where required, following onset of disability from trauma, disease or associated with congenital conditions. Provision of specialist paediatric rehabilitation care including inpatient subacute and ambulatory (day rehab and outpatient) rehabilitation services to patients of the Children's Hospital at Westmead and highly specialised care to statewide and interstate patients as needed with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. There is an expectation that the staff specialist will work collaboratively with other health professionals at the Children's Hospital at Westmead, within the SCHN and in the Community to facilitate access of children to specialty paediatric rehabilitation services and to improve outcomes of rehabilitation intervention for children with complex medical conditions with physical and other impairments causing functional difficulties in day to day living

The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children's Hospital at Westmead appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters.

About the role

- Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities present.
About you
- Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine in Australia (AHPRA)
- FRACP or FAChPM or equivalent Consultant qualification.

The Fellow will contribute to an intellectual environment that supports high-quality medical research, applying evidence-based principles to clinical practice and participating in approved research and audit activities such as NSQIP and the ANZ Emergency Laparotomy Audit, while encouraging peers, registrars and resident medical officers to do likewise. They will organise and deliver education sessions, teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and provide "on the job" training during ward rounds, clinics and operating sessions. Supervision and mentorship of medical students, junior medical staff and trainees is a core expectation, including regular teaching in line with HETI guidelines and participation in staff appraisal. Finally, the Fellow will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement by supporting a "no blame" culture and actively engaging in clinical governance, risk management, audit, peer review, morbidity and mortality meetings, adverse event monitoring, root cause analysis, and clinical practice improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient care.

Essential Requirements:
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award/ Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
2. Sound clinical knowledge in emergency General Surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Sub-specialty focus in an area of general surgery (especially colorectal, oesophago-gastric, hepatobiliary, hernia) advantageous
3. Demonstrated commitment to the maintenance and further development of skills applicable to General Surgery, including involvement in further education and quality assurance activities.
4. A commitment to the provision of teaching including medical, nursing and allied health professional staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to research.

What you'll be doing
The CICADA Drug and Alcohol Staff Specialist position within the SCHN Department of Adolescent Medicine is responsible for assessment and management of children and adolescents presenting and referred to the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network CICADA Adolescent or Family Services. The position will provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary teams in these clinical areas at SCHN Westmead and Randwick, contribute to strategic planning, service development, teaching and research addressing parental substance use and/or adolescent drug and alcohol use. The staff specialist will work within a multidisciplinary model of care acknowledging the complex range of paediatric and adolescent health concerns, chronic conditions and psychosocial issues faced by children and adolescents affected by alcohol or other substance use.
CICADA Adolescent and Family Drug and Alcohol Services
The NSW CICADA Centre offers a lifespan approach to the Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by Drugs and Alcoholwithin the SCHN. The three clinical streams include; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Service, Family Drug and Alcohol Service and Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Services. The Centre provides a statewide service and is based within the Department of Adolescent Medicine at both the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick. The Staff Specialist position provides specialist hospital drug and alcohol consult liaison, inpatient and outpatient assessment and treatment of children and adolescents.

The Role
The Deputy Clinical Director position will work closely with the NSW CFMHS Clinical Director in providing clinical support, oversight and governance over the four CFMHS teams and also involve the provision of clinical services for the ForCAT and/or other clinical teams. Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team servicing John Hunter Hospital, Belmont District Hospital and Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a tertiary referral service delivering comprehensive plastic and reconstructive care across the district. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing evidence based, patient centred care while contributing to teaching, training, research and service development.
Of particular interest are candidates with experience in DIEP free flap breast reconstruction, who are passionate about advancing reconstructive surgery services within a large and diverse health network.
About the Role
As a Staff Specialist, you will:
- Provide contemporary specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery services across HNELHD.
- Deliver inpatient, outpatient, consultative, procedural, telehealth and on-call services.
- Work collaboratively with Trauma, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT and other specialty services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care and clinical decision making.
- Contribute to the education and supervision of junior medical staff, trainees and students.
- Support quality improvement, clinical governance and patient safety initiatives.
About You
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A primary medical degree registrable in Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, or eligibility through an approved overseas specialist pathway.
- Eligibility for Specialist registration with AHPRA as a Plastic Surgeon.
- Demonstrated completion of an Australian recognised microsurgical fellowship
- Experience in DIEP free flap breast reconstruction.
- Demonstrated recent and comprehensive experience in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery including Acute Hand Trauma.

Selection Criteria
- Possess or be eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and possess a Qualification as a Certified Urogynaecologist by RANZCOG and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialist (State Award) and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Obstetrics & Gynaecology particularly in the subspecialty of Urogynaecology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards. Agreeable to train future CU trainees in the department
- Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
- Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Urogynaecologydemonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience. Enthusiastic in setting up related services like public Urodynamic studies clinic, incontinence services, etc.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department
The exact work duty schedule will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The session allocations are optional and will be negotiated with the candidate for the contractual hours.

Selection Criteria
- Possess or be eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and possess a Qualification as a Certified Urogynaecologist by RANZCOG and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialist (State Award) and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Obstetrics & Gynaecology particularly in the subspecialty of Urogynaecology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards. Agreeable to train future CU trainees in the department
- Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
- Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Urogynaecologydemonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience. Enthusiastic in setting up related services like public Urodynamic studies clinic, incontinence services, etc.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department
The exact work duty schedule will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The session allocations are optional and will be negotiated with the candidate for the contractual hours.

Successful applicants will be a specialist in intensive care medicine holding FCICM. They must have sound clinical knowledge and experience of working in similar intensive care units. They are expected to have excellent communication and leadership skills, and non-clinical and administrative experience required for a large intensive care unit. Applicant must be willing to contribute to the ICS clinical roster, and non-clinical workload of the service as directed by the head of department.
This is a Fixed Term appointment for the period 1 February 2027 to 6 February 2028.
Western Sydney Local Health District is responsible for the provision of health services to the local government area comprised of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd, and Parramatta and tertiary care. These services are provided through several hospitals and community-based facilities located strategically across the district.
Western Sydney Local Health District is committed to achieving continuous quality improvement in client services within a Quality Management framework, with a supporting Strategic Plan aimed at the continuous improvement of all facilities. The district has individual facilities located at Westmead, Cumberland, Auburn, Blacktown and Mount Druitt.
Westmead Hospital Intensive Care Service (ICS) is a tertiary care facility, with a throughput of 3200 admissions per annum. The ICS admits critically ill trauma, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery medical and surgical patients.
Westmead ICS operates as a Level 1 Neuro-Trauma facility and serves as the designated cardio-thoracic referral center for adult congenital heart disease. The unit comprises 49 beds distributed across four zones, including a 12-bed specialty zone dedicated to cardio-thoracic patients. The ICU manages a comprehensive case mix of complex medical and surgical patients, Haematology cases, and renal transplant recipients. In addition to standard intensive care services, the unit operates extensive extracorporeal life support programs, including Veno-venous and Veno-arterial ECMO, and provides extracorporeal CPR services for both in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest referrals..
The ICS Staff Specialist provides clinical leadership in best practice care to critically ill patients, and in the supervision of junior staff.
Selection Criteria:1.Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the college of Intensive Care Medicine as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.2.Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.3.A minimum of 1-year post-CICM Fellowship experience as a consultant or post graduate fellow in Intensive Care Medicine, within a tertiary ICU in Australia or New Zealand.4.Demonstrated sound and broad clinical knowledge and experience in Intensive Care Medicine, with capacity for safe, independent consultant-level decision-making.5.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially within a multidisciplinary team.6.Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the clinical and operational requirements of a busy tertiary Intensive Care Service and integrate positively within an established team.7.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across specialty and organizational boundaries, with an understanding of the role of Intensive Care within the broader hospital and health service.8.Demonstrated commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and patient safety.9.Demonstrated commitment to supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and trainees, including simulation-based education.10.Demonstrated interest and experience in research, audit and/or service development within Intensive Care Medicine.
