Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Intake Clinician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and appropriate access to care through comprehensive assessment and clinical triage processes. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial and risk assessments of individuals seeking admission, many of whom may present in acute distress or crisis.
- Applying advanced clinical judgement and critical thinking to assess suitability for admission and identify potential risks.
- Collaborating with psychiatrists, Nurse Unit Managers, referrers, patients, and carers to facilitate timely and clinically appropriate admissions.
- Providing expert clinical advice, consultation, and care pathway recommendations to referrers, patients, and families.
