About Our Role
Our Provisional Fellow in Orthopaedic Surgery (Neurospinal) provides effective clinical management of adult elective and emergency spinal patients including spinal cord injured surgical patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Provisional Fellow is a key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
This role is suitable only for surgeons in an early stage of their career who wish to build on skills developed during the initial phases of their training.
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the doctor’s skills, knowledge and experience. The medical officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
Your Primary Location
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Services is a major teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre based on the Randwick Hospitals Campus. We provide excellent healthcare to SESLHD and specialist health and medical services to NSW. We connect with various universities including the University of New South Wales. Our premier medical facilities enable leading learning opportunities for our staff.
We have 450 inpatient beds and almost 3,000 staff. Each year we care for more than 64,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 50,000 patients are admitted to our Hospital. We also have a busy outpatient service and rural outreach service and provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year.
Randwick is a metropolitan hub in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. We have a vibrant, multicultural community, with diverse dining options and regular entertainment hosted by our local council. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic and committed candidates for the Infectious Diseases Trainee position at The Sutherland Hospital for the 2027 clinical year.
Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital is a 375 bed Major Metropolitan Teaching Hospital affiliated with the University of NSW, located in the Sutherland Shire 25 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. A 44 bed Emergency Department which includes 3 resuscitation bays, dedicated Adult and Paediatric Fast Track areas, an 8 bed ED Short Stay Unit, a collocated Radiology Department with CT scanner. The addition of 60 new acute inpatient beds, including 6 additional ICU beds and a 16 bed General Medical Unit. There are 24hr diagnostic services and excellent support from Mental Health, ICU and community/aged care services and nursing staff. Sutherland Hospital provides a 24/7 Interventional Cardiology service. Inpatient services include most subspecialties; General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Mental Health.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of at least 4 years full time equivalent post-graduate years.
- A demonstrated vocational interest in clinical infectious diseases.
- A professional attitude and flexibility, with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters.

About the role
The Consultant provides specialist cardiology services across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to optimise patient outcomes. The Consultant maintains clinical excellence through adherence to standards, quality review programs, education, research, and collaborative teamwork to support effective and efficient service delivery.
Key duties of the role
- Provide a high standard of clinical practice through adherence to policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Active participation in clinical review programmes to monitor standards of practice.
- Provide effective and efficient medical services to inpatients, outpatients, and community.
- Contribute to and facilitate education programmes.
- Assess and appraise medical undergraduates and trainee medical officers.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
- Previous significant clinical experience in paediatric cardiology.
- Experience in non-invasive imaging, particularly advanced echocardiography including transthoracic echocardiography.
- Skills in clinical problem solving and decision making.

- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). Candidate to provide AHPRA Registration Number on application.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination, and demonstrated subspecialty training in Electrophysiology. Evidence of special interest in atrial fibrillation and a commitment to establish an atrial fibrillation clinic to promote early discharge and admission avoidance where appropriate.

About the role:

About our Role
This position is an accredited Addiction Medicine training position including a possible rotation to the Public Health Unit.
Addiction Medicine: To provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments.
Public Health Medicine: Trainees will have the opportunity to spend 6-12 months working within the Public Health Unit. During this time the purpose will be to provide public health management in response to notifiable conditions and outbreaks, in collaboration with teams in the Public Health Unit, and undertake projects that address health protection priorities in SESLHD.
Our Primary Location
Drug and Alcohol Services at SESLHD provide treatment and support for people experiencing problems related to the use of alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, heroin or prescription medications (e.g. opioid analgesics, benzodiazepines).

The hospital offers a comprehensive range of surgical activities including a busy vascular unit, advanced general including liver, upper GI and colorectal surgery, complex laparoscopic and general urology, ENT (Adult and Paediatric), dental, maxillofacial, orthopaedic, O&G, ophthalmology, cardiology, ERCP and interventional radiology services.
Port Macquarie Base Hospital has a 16-bed intensive care unit providing treatment and support for critically ill medical and surgical patients, staffed by consultant specialists and dedicated ICU trainees.

About Our Role
The primary purpose of a Provisional Fellow in Anaesthesia is to provide advanced level anaesthetic practice in a complex clinical environment, whilst under supervision as part of the training of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
Provisional Fellows are expected to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills, including:

This position offers an excellent program and pathway for senior trainees to transition into consultant practice. Special emphasis is placed on developing clinical autonomy, organisational skills and supervision of junior trainees. Anaesthesia at Prince of Wales
Prince of Wales Anaesthesia provides anaesthesia services to Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH). There are fourteen general operating theatres (adult and paediatric), a cardiac operating suite, and a two-theatre urology operating suite including lithotripsy.
There are multiple locations outside of theatres where anaesthesia support is provided to procedural and diagnostic work (e.g. radiology, cardiac catheter labs, endoscopy suite etc.). Anaesthesia is also very active in both teaching and research.
Anaesthesia has eleven Fellow positions: nine in a wide range of Anaesthesia Services distributed between POWH and SCH, one in Pain Medicine and one in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (the latter two are advertised separately). In practice all Anaesthesia Fellows work across both POWH and SCH.
A wide range of options are available for the training of Provisional Fellows within the Department. The exact mix of duties is determined by negotiation. We tailor a year of high-quality clinical and non-clinical exposure to each individual. The general principles for a week of work are: two days of clinical work in an area of preferred interest for each provisional fellow, two days of further clinical work required by the Department, and a day for research and development, administration, teaching and quality assurance activities.

Each year the Hospital delivers up to 3,000 babies; cares for more than 600 premature babies; performs more than 3000 surgical procedures and has over 2000 visits through our Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS).
The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG. Provisional Fellows will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system.
The purpose of the position is to provide clinical support to the Department of Medical Imaging while working towards obtaining the DDU and/or COGU. This post is primarily in Diagnostic Ultrasound and is suitable for an Obstetrician or Radiologist who has recently obtained a Fellowship of the RANZCOG or RANZCR, or one who is in their last years of training.
The position represents an opportunity for involvement in a leading Department with an Obstetric, Prenatal, Neonatal and Gynaecological focus. It is expected that fellows with suitable training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology would participate in the after-hours roster. Conditions are on the basis of qualifications. This is not a postgraduate fellow position.

This regional hospital has seen a huge growth in presentations and now sees 50,000 per year, with 25% paediatrics, fast track area and short stay unit. The Base Hospital is the main referral centre for the Mid North Coast and is a regional trauma centre. It is also affiliated with the University of New South Wales rural clinical medical school co-located on the hospital campus and Charles Sturt University.
Kempsey District Hospital is a rural hospital 45 minutes from Port Macquarie. It has approximately 30,000 presentations per year (25% paediatrics and 25% indigenous), There is on site medical wards, maternity services, rehab, surgery and mental health. Some patients will be referred to port Macquarie Base Hospital for specialty inpatient care. We strive to deliver a high level of consultant-led care to both our Emergency departments in the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network regardless of the location.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of a Trainee Stage 1 in Emergency Medicine is to provide high quality medical care under appropriate supervision to undifferentiated patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Trainees Stage 1 undertaking the care of medical patients should ensure that they operate within their own level of expertise within a collaborative clinical care model and to seek consultation with their colleagues when appropriate. Trainees Stage 1 work under a level of supervision according to their competence in the following activities:
- Taking a leadership role in coordinating the admission, assessment, management, and discharge planning of patients.
- Communicating assessment and management decisions to other staff involved in the patient’s care.
- Communicating with the patient / family regarding the patient’s condition and management plans.
- Coordinating diagnostic tests and consultations with other medical specialists.
- Arranging the patient discharge process and liaising with local medical officers and community based care modalities for optimal post discharge care.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the health care team.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team.
- Demonstrated good organizational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.

- The Orthopaedic Trainee will gain experience in Orthopaedics with a view to progressing this training. About the Role
Join CALHN as a Cardiology Service Registrar and build your expertise across a broad range of cardiology services. You’ll provide clinical care across the RAH and TQEH, support junior medical staff and contribute to safe, high-quality specialist care under Consultant Cardiologist supervision.
- Provide inpatient, consultative and outpatient cardiology care
- Support and supervise junior medical staff within the unit
- Coordinate specialist cardiology care with key clinical teams
- Contribute to teaching, education and quality improvement
- Take part in clinical research, audit and best-practice care
About You
Bring your clinical expertise, teamwork and commitment to high-quality cardiology care. To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold an MBBS or equivalent with General Registration
- Hold a pass in the FRACP Part I written and clinical exam
- Bring clinical cardiology and quality improvement experience
- Demonstrate strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork
