- outpatient consulting sessions at designated consulting suites, located on the hospital grounds
- contributing to the hospital through committee work or equivalent
Calvary Hobart, St John's Hospital supports the Calvary Rehabilitation Physician VMO's with access to consulting rooms on site, including administrative and information systems support. The VMO's provide an on-call service for Rehabilitation Medicine admissions to the hospital and a consultation service to other specialities, and successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the on-call roster. Inpatients are located on a designated rehabilitation ward with a skilled and compassionate nursing team with Allied Health support and has access to a hospital medical officer during business hours. Support will be provided to set up in outpatient consulting suites at the Calvary St John's Hospital Campus.

Calvary Hobart, St John's Hospital supports the Calvary Rehabilitation Physician VMO's with access to consulting rooms on site, including administrative and information systems support. The VMO's provide an on-call service for Rehabilitation Medicine admissions to the hospital and a consultation service to other specialities, and successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the on-call roster. Inpatients are located on a designated rehabilitation ward with a skilled and compassionate nursing team with Allied Health support and has access to a hospital medical officer during business hours. The hospital is seeking a Rehabilitation Physician with FRACP, AFRM or equivalent, to join the Group in providing rehabilitation medical services including:
- Participating in the rehabilitation medicine on-call roster (approximately 1 in 5)
- Outpatient consulting sessions at designated consulting suites, located on the hospital grounds
- Contributing to the hospital through committee work or equivalent
Support will be provided to set up in practice suites at the Calvary St John's Hospital Campus.

The Billing and Revenue Collection Project will deliver an enterprise billing and revenue platform as well as uplifted and future-ready business capability that reliably supports Activity Based Funding, Medicare, and private patient billing across the Tasmanian public health system.

The Role
By understanding front-line business activities and challenges, the Consultant – Business Analysis considers people, policies, processes, clinical governance frameworks, and technology, to support hospitals, health and corporate services in identifying effective solutions underpinned by technology that meets business requirements, delivers measurable benefits, and contributes to the effective initiation and management of projects.
Experience in health billing and revenue is highly regarded. This includes working knowledge of Medicare claiming (including bulk billing and ECLIPSE), private patient election and health fund claiming, compensable and Medicare-ineligible patient billing. Candidates who understand how patient registration, clinical documentation and coding flow through to compliant claims and revenue will be well placed to translate operational needs into system and process requirements.

The Geriatric Evaluation and Management and GEM@Home Unit consists of a state of the art 30 bed inpatient ward with GEM/ TCP/ Rehabilitation that provides specialist in-patient care to the growing communities of the West. The Unit is based at Werribee Mercy Hospital. The unit is supervised by a Head of Unit and is made up of Geriatricians, an Advanced Trainee, BPT registrar, HMO’s and an Intern. There is a strong multidisciplinary team consisting of medical, nursing and allied health staff. In addition to ward responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to be involved in ACAS rounds as well as specialist clinics. - Demonstrated skills and experience in providing a high-level HR consultancy service in relation to dealing with complex issues including legislation interpretation, complaint handling and dispute resolution, within the political, social and organisational environment of health and human services in the public sector.

About the opportunity - Hiring for Nov 2026 Start
The role is accredited for RACGP Extended Skills Post and is ideal for GPT 3 and above registrar position.
The role is also suitable for physician training and/or Emergency Training. Those who are interested in physician or Emergency Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply.
The role is well supported by daily consultant supervision and rounding. You will work closely with HITH consultant, Resident Medical Officer and Senior Nurses to provide care for patients in HITH.
There is no afterhours for the role. The department medical consultants provide at least bi-weekly training and education in addition to hospital education and training.
There is opportunity for the role to join other specialty rotations in 2026.

About the role

Position details
The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is Tasmania's second-largest hospital, providing specialist and acute healthcare services to the North and North West regions of the state and serving a population of approximately 250,000 people.

Rheumatology Unit
The Rheumatology Unit at Launceston General Hospital was established in early 2026 and is a growing multidisciplinary service dedicated to providing comprehensive rheumatology care across North and North West regions of Tasmania.
The team currently consists of 2-3 rheumatologists, 2 physiotherapists, 1 clinical nurse consultant, and 1 administrator. Despite its small size, the unit is a dynamic and collaborative team that values innovation, patient-centred care, and continuous service development.
Working closely together, the multidisciplinary team provides coordinated, patient-centred care for individuals living with inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, and crystal arthropathies, helping patients achieve the best possible health and quality-of-life outcomes.
The Role:
- Staff Specialist Rheumatologist, providing specialist care in Rheumatology
- Provide outpatient consultation to public patients across Northern Tasmania in specialist Rheumatology services
- Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required.
- Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, 0.25 FTE, day worker position, working up to 19 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.

Salary:
Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award
A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.
- Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $222,789 - $319,701 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- The remuneration package for this position, based on classification as a Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 9, starts at $484,000 per annum, with potential for higher earnings dependant on seniority, in accordance with the current Specialist Medical Practitioner Award (Tasmania)
- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $309,222 -$319,701 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025
In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle (subject to working full-time hours)OR allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $30,254 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $17,483 pro rata per annum.
- Relocation allowance.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata, of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.

- Demonstrated experience in retail management (or hospitality management), including experience in coaching and mentoring people
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service and exceed customer expectations
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the fundamentals of all store roles, including but not limited to customer service, visual presentation, online marketing and stock control
- Create a values driven, diverse and safe employment environment that attracts, engages and retains skilled employees and volunteers
- Communicate promotional event information to maximise results
- Identify issues and opportunities based on trends and customer feedback
- Setting and exceeding priorities to meet daily deadlines; developing plans to meet short-term objectives
