What you'll be doing

Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, part of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, is seeking the services of a paediatrician to provide short periods of leave relief to rural paediatricians across NSW. About the Role:

As the Nurse Unit Manager for Mental Health Hospital In The Home (MH-HITH) within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, you will shape how acute mental health support is delivered in the community - keeping people connected to their lives while receiving the care they need.

What You'll Lead

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for the MH-HITH service, overseeing safe, recovery-oriented care delivery across the Adelaide Metro Northern region
• The line management, coordination and leadership of nursing/ and/or multi-disciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient/client care and outcomes.
• Champion continuous quality improvement, ensuring practice aligns with current mental health legislation, SA Health policy, and relevant accreditation standards
• Partner with acute inpatient, community, and primary health teams to facilitate timely admissions and safe transitions of care

What You Bring

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with at least 3 years post registration experience
• Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing, including working with adults experiencing acute psychiatric presentations
• Proven ability to lead and develop a clinical team in a community or in-reach setting
• Sound understanding of the Mental Health Act 2009 (SA) and its application to practice
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across disciplines and service interfaces
• Experience in or a clear aptitude for managing competing operational priorities without compromising care quality

To be eligible for this position, you must Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, and enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
