The Department of Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition is advertising 2.5 fixed-term vacant sessions to fulfil the role of a junior Consultant Gastroenterologist with expertise in paediatric gastroenterology. These sessions will be linked to outpatient duties (clinics) and will run from Monday 12/10/2026 to Friday 25/6/2027, inclusive. The Director of Gastroenterology will negotiate the details of the clinical sessions with the successful candidate.
You will provide clinical care to paediatric patients with a full range of gastroenterology conditions. You will contribute to the provision of outpatient services (both on-campus and telehealth). You will collaborate with other services within and outside the RCH to develop a more patient-centred, standardised and sustainable model of care. You will contribute to existing research in collaboration with the key campus partners of the University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, with opportunities to initiate new research.
You will be responsible for:
- Establish and continue medical care of outpatients of RCH within the general remit of the department
- Attendance at outpatient clinic and endoscopy sessions as directed
- Clinical care of outpatient with gastroenterological, and liver disease
- Procedural responsibilities within the scope of practice including diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy
- Accurate and appropriate medical record keeping
- Time management and completion of administrative duties related to employment
Classification for this position will range from Specialist Yr1-Yr2 , under Award 31 (pro rata for part-time, plus superannuation).
Your Skills and Experience:
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP or eligible for FRACP)
- Fellowship training in Paediatric Gastroenterology is mandatory
- Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA
Key Selection Criteria:
- Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA is required
- FRACP or equivalent or eligible for FRACP

The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Psychiatry (Forensic Mental Health) is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Forensic Psychiatry, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Burudyara Forensic Mental Health Unit and Hospital as required.
The Burudyara Forensic Mental Health Unit is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility established as part of the NSW Statewide Mental Health Infrastructure Program. Located on the grounds of the Concord Centre for Mental Health, the Unit provides 18 medium secure and 24 low secure forensic mental health beds, significantly expanding access to specialised care.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award, with or working towards Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry.

What you'll be doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Physician services for optimal patient outcomes.
Provide and support training for registrars and junior medical officers to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
We provide a range of elective and emergency surgical services; general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynaecology and obstetrics. It is supported by a close observation Unit.
The new Level 4 Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will include:
- Increased capacity for chemotherapy treatments and increased access to renal dialysis
- Surgical and operating theatres and a day stay surgical unit
- Expanded medical imaging, including MRI
- Ambulatory care for community outpatient services
- Paediatric and maternity services, and a special care nursery
- Mental health beds for short term admissions, and
- Enhanced education and training facilities, including a simulation laboratory.
Selection Criteria:
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician or equivalent overseas qualification (Internal Medicine) either eligible for Expedited Specialist Pathway or substantially comparable on the RACP Specialist IMG Pathway.
- Demonstrated current clinical experience in General / Acute / Internal Medicine at an appropriate Level 4 health service.
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadership,
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical research, simulation and quality improvement.

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Rheumatologist to work as a locum for leave cover which may include ward and consults service and outpatient clinic setting for up to 12-months.
Work across three outpatient clinics, including two general clinics at Box Hill Hospital and the Metabolic Bone Clinic at Maroondah Hospital on alternating Friday mornings. Join a dynamic and supportive team that includes an accredited Advanced Trainee based at Box Hill Hospital, providing a collaborative and rewarding clinical environment.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current AHPRA registration and qualification as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) recognised as a Rheumatologist
- The ability to work with your peer group including specialists, other clinical and administrative staff at Clinics and Wards

The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in General Surgery (Acute Care and Emergency Surgery) is to provide a structured post-Fellowship development program for a recently qualified specialist General Surgeon, consolidating advanced clinical skills while developing expertise in emergency surgery leadership, service implementation, clinical governance, education and research.
The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high-quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in General Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the General Surgery Department and Canterbury Hospital as required. The position will coordinate and support General Surgery Mortality and Morbidity meetings, including preparation of agendas, documentation of minutes, monitoring of actions arising, and support implementation of quality improvement initiatives. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The Fellow will play a central role in implementing, evaluating and continuously improving Canterbury Hospital's enhanced all-day emergency surgery model. The role will provide senior clinical support for emergency general surgical patients and a key point of liaison between General Surgery, other surgical specialties, Anaesthetics, the Operating Suite, Emergency Department, inpatient units and hospital management. The role also includes coordination of, and participation in, dedicated emergency theatre sessions and general surgical care, together with departmental administrative support, supervision of junior medical officers and medical students, support to coordination and delivery of trainee education, quality improvement and research activities.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in General Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.
The option of part-time/job share arrangements is available.

The position can be structured to meet individual preference for full or part-time occupation. Suitable applicants include those with experience in general cardiology, as well as sub-specialty trained cardiologists, particularly those with imaging, heart failure, cardio-oncology and coronary/structural HD interventional skills. Situated in an established private practice with extensive GP and specialist referral base, cardiology RN's on staff, in-house investigations including echo and Holter, and across-the-road access to a well serviced private hospital. The hospital has 2 cardiac catheter labs, cardiac surgery, ICU and CCU, cardiac rehabilitation and an extensive support network for radiology and pathology. The hospital has MDT meetings and regular mortality and morbidity reviews.
Opportunities for involvement in supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and medical students are available.
Flexibility for leave (educational or recreational) is important to us, and we aim to allow leave as needed, with priorities given to patient care and service provision underlined, and providing equitable on-call for all parties is negotiated.
Remuneration will be attractive, based on a fee for service system, minus a facility fee as a percentage of billings. A pathway to joining as a practice associate will be negotiable.
Qualifications: Applicants must be registered as a Medical Practitioner and Specialist with AHPRA, and must hold FRACP, including specialist recognition as a cardiologist. Specialist registration under AHPRA must be either fully independent or requiring level 4 supervision. We cannot support levels 1 to 3 supervision. Referees will be required.
