The Staff Specialist is responsible for the delivery and management of high-quality inpatient, outpatient and community Diabetes and Endocrinology Medicine services, ensuring clients receive evidence-based care to optimise and maintain their functional outcomes.
Key duties of the role- Participate in the provision of a high standard of clinical services to patients of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Service using evidence-based practice.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment, ensure clinical records are maintained in accordance with organisational policies, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice within the specialty.
- Ensure undergraduate and postgraduate training in the discipline of Paediatric Medicine services is facilitated.
- Leading the unit and participating in quality management, quality assurance and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services.
- Contribute to the ongoing review of Credentialing & Scope of Clinical Practice for medical staff.
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.

In this role, you'll provide expert dermatological care to our community, working alongside multidisciplinary teams committed to excellence. This role offers exposure to diverse cases whilst contributing to teaching and research initiatives that shape the future of dermatological practice.
As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are recruiting for a temporary Visiting Medical Officer for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension, to complement and enhance the current Paediatric Ophthalmology Department.

Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

- Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
- Demonstrated high-standard clinical practice, including advanced diagnosis and management of complex paediatric eye diseases, paediatric ophthalmic surgery, and Retinopathy of Prematurity screening in neonatal intensive care settings, with the ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
- Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team, including orthoptists, paediatricians and other relevant health professionals.
