About the opportunity

An exciting casual opportunity exists for a Grade 2 or 3 Allied Health Professional (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist considered) with Hand Therapy skills and knowledge to join a busy public hospital. This role provides hand therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients and supports patients presenting with acute, subacute and chronic conditions.

You will work alongside an established and supportive hand therapy team comprising of Grade 2 and Grade 3 clinicians, with access to shared expertise, peer support and clinical supervision. This position is embedded within the broader Occupational Therapy department who deliver services to the Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, Acute, Subacute, Hospital in the Home, Health Independence Program and CHSP/Support@Home services.

This opportunity is well suited to clinicians seeking to consolidate or expand their hand therapy skills in a dynamic, multidisciplinary hospital environment, whilst contributing to high quality, patient-centered care.

About the Mother Baby Unit 

The Werribee MBU is a 6-bed, 6-cot inpatient facility specialising in perinatal mental health. The unit supports women experiencing moderate to severe perinatal mental health challenges and focuses on strengthening parenting capacity and the mother-infant relationship. 

The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric registrars, psychologists, maternal and child health nurses, clinical nurse specialists, postgraduate-trained nursing staff, a Nurse Unit Manager, and other allied health professionals.

• Deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health nursing care 
• Support mother-infant bonding and parenting skills development

• Participate in quality improvement and reflective clinical practice 
• Demonstrated commitment to holistic, family-centred care

• Availability for shift work, including nights

•  The applicant will work independently, with a higher degree of autonomy and accountability
• They will assist with the maintenance of the working environment and associated equipment by ensuring standard precautions are followed whilst practicing within WH&S and Infection Control guidelines and standards. 
• Duties may include; cleaning, restocking, patient positioning and equipment maintenance.

About the opportunity

The Occupational Therapy department at WMH offers a supportive environment that promotes a culture of learning and development, with various opportunities for career progression. The friendly WMH OT teams consists of 28 dedicated clinicians who provide referral based holistic care to the emergency department, short stay unit, acute, subacute, community (Health Independence Program, Commonwealth Home Support Program & Support at Home) and outpatient hand therapy clients.

As a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist (Senior Clinician), you will provide safe, evidence‑based clinical leadership and support across the subacute setting. You will play a key role in the delivery and oversight of therapy programs, functional interventions, and patient‑centred care that promote independence, safety, and overall wellbeing.

A Grade 3 OT will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality service delivery, including assessment, intervention planning, and evaluation of outcomes. In this role, you will also provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior Occupational Therapy staff, fostering professional development and maintaining clinical standards within the team.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role will contribute to the effective operation of the department through leadership in quality improvement initiatives, resource development and coordination, and maintaining well‑organised and safe therapy environments.

In this role, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with medical, allied health, and support staff to deliver coordinated, responsive care. The Transition to Specialist Practice in Perioperative Nursing program, offered at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg, is a 12-month program that will provide you with a supported and valuable opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in the unique and rewarding area of perioperative nursing.  This course is adapted to your needs and can support those nurses with some previous perioperative nursing experience through to nurses who have limited or no previous perioperative experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Application Service Delivery, you will join a small and close knit IT Applications team based in Richmond, supporting the systems that keep our hospitals, aged care homes and corporate services running. You will be the technical contact for an assigned group of business applications, taking ownership of incidents and service requests, and working directly with business users and vendors to get things resolved.

This is a hands on role with genuine variety. Alongside day to day support you will deliver small to medium changes, enhancements and projects from analysis through to deployment, and contribute to larger application and integration initiatives.

You will work alongside our application and integration analysts, with real scope to build your skills across Microsoft 365, the Power Platform, integration technologies and healthcare systems.

About the opportunity

Mercy Hospital for Women Heidelberg is seeking passionate Midwives to join our supportive Maternity team.  We have Permanent Part-time opportunities in specialty areas

We provide a friendly, collaborative culture where you can build you midwifery experience working across the spectrum of maternity care.

Our specialist units include Postnatal / Antenatal wards, Birth Suites, Fetal Monitoring Unit and Emergency Department, Gynaecology/ Oncology Ward, Special Care Nursery and Domiciliary / Hospital in the Home.  You will join a multidisciplinary team providing best practice patient care as a as a permanent staff member. 

• Flexible rostering working in speciality units

• Play an integral role in a motivated clinical team with a strong family centred care approach

• Providing high quality care for women and their babies

• Opportunities for professional development to enhance midwifery expertise.

What you’ll bring
You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Registration as a Midwife with AHPRA

• A minimum 12 months experience as a Registered Midwife in an Australian hospital setting

• Passionate about woman-centred care and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
