About the opportunity

As a Registered Midwife on the Postnatal Antenatal Ward you will provide safe, evidence-based, woman and family-centred care to women and their newborn babies throughout the antenatal and postnatal period.  

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, while promoting positive health outcomes and supporting informed decision-making
• Manage a dynamic workload involving women with both low and high-risk pregnancies and postnatal needs

Our 2-year Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program is part of a broader inter-professional learning program, which allows graduates time to consolidate their skills in a supportive environment. • The Intern Pharmacist works under the direct supervision of a supervising pharmacist at all times during internship.
• All documentation is signed-off by the supervising pharmacist until intern is registered as a pharmacist.
• Clinical and process issues are to be escalated to the supervising pharmacist and Senior Pharmacist .
• Complete the Monash Intern Training Program and Intern Foundation Program which includes conducting a research project (from ethics to poster and/or publication) with guidance by a research supervisor in accordance with local ethics and research guidelines.
• Attend Pharmacy Department team meetings .
• Rotate through and contribute to the provision of pharmacy services in clinical, quality use of medicines, and operational (dispensary and clinical) areas.
• Attend and contribute to the weekly Intern clinical/OTC Tutorials.
• Participate in scheduled, simulated, practice registration exams.
• Take an active responsibility in learning and development (work-based and after-hours).
• Assist with education of other staff as required (i.e. undergraduate experiential placement students, pharmacy technicians).

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled dual qualified Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife to join our busy Emergency Department. We provide exceptional care for women presenting with problems occurring in early pregnancy, and the antenatal and postnatal periods. We also care for women with acute gynaecological problems and neonates up to 2 weeks of age. About the opportunity

• Be a leader of a collaborative and skilled group of midwives who work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team within the Birthing Suite based at The Mercy Hospital for Women: a tertiary referral centre, with over 5000 births per year, home to one of only four neonatal intensive care units in Melbourne. This allows us to provide care for some of the highest risk pregnancies in the state.
• You will manage day to day operations of our 12 bed birthing suite, guiding the team to provide comprehensive midwifery care for women and support them in their birth choices. Whether this be an unmedicated, hypnobirth in the bath, or a high-risk induction of labour. We keep women and their families at the centre of everything we do.
• You will support and encourage our midwives to work to their full scope of practice.
• Opportunity to join one of our many working groups to promote positive change – including improving our environmental impact.
• Our team fosters a supportive and compassionate environment to help you excel and grow in your midwifery career.
• Be supported by the Midwifery Unit Manager to develop your leadership skills, including opportunity to cover in the Unit Manager role and encouragement to complete further education such as diploma or masters of leadership.

We are seeking expressions of interest from Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our residential aged care home in Albury. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real and meaningful difference when it matters most.

• Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

About the opportunity

Early Parenting Centres (EPC’s) strive to support happy, healthy, safe and thriving babies and toddlers by promoting the parent-child relationship, and equipping parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals. These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health and wellbeing. EPC’s recognise that the health and wellbeing of the primary caregiver, and whole family is vital to children’s development and outcomes. EPC’s provide specialist support for Victorian families with children’s aged 0-4 years.

The Early Parenting Practitioner role:

• Provide responsive early parenting support to families with children up to their 4th Birthday Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the complex needs of families
• Provide emotional and practical support and guidance for the health and wellbeing of children
• Employed under the Nursing and Midwifery as per EBA
• EPC’s are open Monday to Friday and are closed on Weekends
• Free On-Site Car Parking
• EPC’s are open 50 weeks a year with a 2 week closure over Christmas/New Years

About the opportunity

The Clare Moore Building (CMB) is a 54 bed adult mental health inpatient unit providing care to consumers aged 18–64 years. The unit comprises one Intensive Care Area (ICA) and three Recovery Care Areas (RCAs).

This specialised role aims to empower consumers to build resilience and take an active role in their personal recovery.  

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the consumer peer support role may include psychosocial support, safety planning, recovery/wellness planning, individual peer support, and advocacy.

• Contributes effectively to clinical review processes, team activities and effectively works within a multidisciplinary team.
• Assists CMB consumers to be aware of their rights and responsibilities.
• Contributes effectively to the ongoing use of recovery orientated practice.
• Assists relevant staff to provide information to consumers receiving service.
• Be active collaborators in developing, reviewing and providing information resources for consumers and their families and carers.

• A lived experience of mental ill-health and treatment within a mental health service.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Completion of or enrolled to complete Intentional Peer Support Training
• Awareness of, and commitment to, your wellbeing and self-care as it relates to your work
• A current driver’s licence.
• National Police Check, Working with Children Check, Evidence of right to work within Australia and evidence of COVID-19 booster vaccination or valid medical exemption.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

Mercy Hospital for Women's Outpatient general gynaecology clinics operate Monday to Friday.

This role involves:

• Providing effective and efficient co-ordination and procedural support to the general gynaecology clinics.
• Managing clinic sessions to ensure adequate appointment availability and clinic utilisation.
• Triaging referrals and waitlist management.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans and self-care techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

About the opportunity:

The Consumer Lived Experience Support Worker (AOD) position has been specifically developed for people who have been directly connected to mental health and/or alcohol and other drug service provision via their own experience as a care recipient. The position provides support for people with co-occurring mental illness and substance use.

The Consumer Lived Experience Support Worker (AOD) works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, consumers and their families/carers to facilitate support, learning and / or provide practical assistance for action towards identified recovery goals

• Bring a lived experience perspective to the AOD specialist team at MMH&WS.
• Provide consultation and advice to clinicians on how to work with people with co-occurring mental ill health and substance use.
• Contribute to professional development and capacity building across the organization to build a service that delivers integrated treatment, care and support to people living with mental ill health and substance use or addiction.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience of mental health and alcohol and other drug challenges and recovery
• The ability to share their consumer lived experience, where appropriate, to support consumers to build understanding, hope and resilience in line with peer support principles
• Attained or willing to work towards the Certificate IV in Mental Health (Peer Work) or Training and experience in the Intentional Peer Support framework.
• Good knowledge of the diverse issues and perspectives that matter to people who experience mental ill health.
• Trauma-informed understanding of alcohol and other drug use.

Desirable:

• Extensive experience as a lived experience worker
• Extensive experience as a consumer of a mental health service and/or alcohol and other drug service
• Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or relevant certificate, diploma or degree qualifications in another field
• Full unrestricted Victorian Drivers License

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

• High level working knowledge of current evidence-based practices and a commitment to quality improvement, clinical research and professional development of self and others.
