Casual opportunity available for energetic, passionate and highly capable Site Support Officer to join the team at our Cape York Family Centre Rehabilitation Centre.
Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group of services, where family and belonging is at the heart of everything we do, building a stronger future together. The Pinangba service of Cape York Family Centre based in Cooktown . It is a place where we work together as a big family to provide care and residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services to our mob.
The core function of the Site Support Worker position is to ensure the safety of individuals and families who are receiving residential AOD rehabilitation treatment via shift work (after hours and weekends). This position works predominantly as a lone worker to undertake security checks of the perimeter, site tasks and support safety of residents.
Your part in our Blue Care team
Maintain site safety and security by undertaking perimeter checks hourly or as frequently as directed.
Undertake an afternoon lockdown check of buildings and motor vehicles
Monitor the service to ensure that clients and visitors are not bringing or using contraband on-site and are not attending site under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Ensure clients are following the rules of the service and role model this behaviour
De-escalate client disagreements or conflict (with support from on-call or management as necessary)
Respond to emergency situations and call Ambulance, Fire, Police where necessary and with assistance from Manager and/or On-call and documenting in Site Support Worker book or via email.
Report to and/or consult with Manager or On-call in relation to suspicions of on-site use, issues or decisions in relation to all of the above accountabilities.
Record observations and actions into Site Support Worker book and email to relevant team member.
Provide practical support (transport, centrelink and bank) as organised by Clinical Team.
Answer the phone and take messages
Assist clients with medication in compliance with medication assist procedures
Undertake regular cleaning tasks - eg (Frequent touch points, Motor Vehicles, Equipment, Empty Bins, sweep, mop)
Support planned diversionary and on-site activities
Report Maintenance Issues
Comply with all Pinangba and Uniting Care policies and procedures
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Undertake other duties as required/directed, as service needs change or grow (consistent with the above and within the scope of the position/duties list and any applicable legal or industrial obligations).

Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are seeking an extra-ordinary person to fill our newly created Life Skills and Activities Officer on a casual basis.
Managed by UnitingCare Homelessness Service, our dedicated team provide short term/crisis supported accommodation to families who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness.
This role will assist with the provision of service to our clients by providing families with the necessary tools and skills required for independent living as well as co-ordinate and supervise activities for all ages to promote healthy socialisation and community spirit.
No one day will ever be the same!

Experience working with the community services sector - in particular in the field of homelessness or another field which provides transferable experience and skills.
Experience in the production of activities that enhance confidence, self-esteem and life skills.
An ability to align activities with individual case plans to support each person's development goals

Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare Family and Relationship Service based at Bundaberg or Gympie.
In this role you will:
Provide individual, couple and group counselling and education with an aim to strengthen family relationships
Prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families.
Essential to the role is:
Sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication and advocacy skills are required along with a proven ability to work co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team in a complex human services environment.

Possession of a Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution coupled with prior experience.

About the role:
As the HELF Lead, you will provide enterprise-wide leadership for the design, governance and operational enablement of HELF services across BlueCare's residential aged care homes. You will be responsible for developing service offerings, pricing frameworks, quality standards and operating models that support enhanced resident choice and experience while ensuring compliance and commercial sustainability
Working across multiple portfolios, you will partner with Resident Experience Managers, operational leaders and corporate functions including Finance, Procurement, Risk and Marketing to:
Design and continuously improve HELF service offerings and packages
Develop service standards, pricing structures and governance frameworks
Drive innovation through resident co-design, market research and service development
Support compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and consumer protection requirements
Build capability across residential services through coaching, guidance and training
Monitor service performance, financial outcomes and resident satisfaction
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance resident choice, dignity and quality of life.
Role requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Community Health, Human Services, Social Science (Ageing & Disability), Business or a related discipline
Strong understanding of residential aged care operations, including care, lifestyle and hospitality services
Comprehensive knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
Experience designing and managing service offerings, programs or customer experience initiatives
Strong financial literacy, including pricing, forecasting, revenue modelling and budget management
Experience implementing governance, compliance and quality assurance frameworks
Current Queensland Driver Licence
Ability to travel across residential aged care services as required
