Along with offering the only Private Rehabilitation Unit in Hobart with a capacity of 40 inpatient beds, Calvary St John's offers an extensive range of health care services for the community including a contemporary day surgery unit. We specialise in Palliative End of Life Care, Oncology, Ear Nose and Throat Care, Opthalmology, Pain Management and Plastic Surgery.
Established in 1899 as a Homeopathic Hospital, St John's joined the Calvary group in 2000.
Support services include an on-site pharmacy, full range of pathology services and a radiology provider that offers CT, MRI and nuclear medicine imaging at our sister hospital. Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Maternity and Women's Health, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Colorectal Surgery, General Medicine and Urology services are provided at our sister campus, Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital which has an Endoscopy Unit, Critical Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Acute General Medicine Unit and Accident and Emergency Department on site.
Calvary is a national Catholic provider of health, community and aged care services founded by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary in Australia 1885. It operates in six states and territories, employs over 18,000 people and has over 1,000 volunteers. Calvary continues the mission of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, focused on caring for those who are sick, dying and in need. Calvary Hobart, St John's Hospital supports the Calvary Rehabilitation Physician VMO's with access to consulting rooms on site, including administrative and information systems support. The VMO's provide an on-call service for Rehabilitation Medicine admissions to the hospital and a consultation service to other specialities, and successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the on-call roster. Inpatients are located on a designated rehabilitation ward with a skilled and compassionate nursing team with Allied Health support and has access to a hospital medical officer during business hours. The hospital is seeking a Rehabilitation Physician with FRACP, AFRM or equivalent, to join the Group in providing rehabilitation medical services including:
- Participating in the rehabilitation medicine on-call roster (approximately 1 in 5)
- Outpatient consulting sessions at designated consulting suites, located on the hospital grounds
- Contributing to the hospital through committee work or equivalent
Support will be provided to set up in practice suites at the Calvary St John's Hospital Campus.

Position Profile:We are recruiting for Senior Registrars to provide high-quality care to both elective and emergency patients at Royal Perth, Bentley and Mount Lawley hospitals. In this position, you will provide and promote high quality and patient centred care to inpatients and outpatients of the speciality under the supervision of the Consultant medical staff. You will provide training, supervision and education for other non-ANZCA trainees and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs). In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, you will work to achieve National, State and East Metropolitan Health Service performance standards and the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards.
Area Profile: The Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Groupis made up of the Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Health Service and Mount Lawley Hospital.
Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Perth's inner city, tertiary adult hospital. Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.
Bentley Hospital (BH) is a 200-bed public hospital providing low acuity surgical, aged care, rehabilitation and mental health services.
Mount Lawley Hospital (ML) is a new addition to EMHS with services to be confirmed soon.

About the Role:

About the role
As the Residential Aged Care Quality and Compliance Manager, you will provide strategic leadership, expert advice and operational support to residential aged care services across MLHD. The Role
The CNE provides coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) with advanced clinical expertise in Palliative Care and a strong interest in Aged Care to join the Palliative Aged Care Supportive Service (PACSS).
In this role, you will deliver advanced nursing assessment, diagnosis, and clinical care to patients and their families within a defined scope of practice, consistent with the NSW Health Nurse Practitioner Framework and relevant professional standards. You will also provide clinical leadership, contribute to strategic service development, and support governance processes to strengthen models of care for residents transitioning to end-of-life care.
About the Role
As the NP/TNP within PACSS, you will provide expert palliative care to older people residing in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) across the Northern Beaches catchment.
Working collaboratively with the NSLHD Specialist Palliative Care Service, Beaches Rapid Access Care of the Elderly (BRACE), General Practitioners, and HammondCare Palliative Care, you will:
- Deliver advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Support coordinated, person-centred care aligned with NSW Health End of Life and Palliative Care Frameworks.
- Facilitate timely and appropriate transitions to end-of-life care.
- Promote advance care planning and optimizing symptom management.
- Providing support and coordinating of care for people approaching the end of life in RACFs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level clinical expertise in advanced palliative care nursing.
- Lead and support innovative models of care to those patients and their families in their transition to end of life care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Support education, mentoring, and professional development of nursing, allied health staff, and carers.
- Strengthen clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives in line with NSW Health policies and standards.

About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Residential Aged Care Services (RACS), the Deputy Operations Manager supports the effective operational management of SVHM Residential Aged Care Services, including Berengarra, Auburn House and Prague House. The role is responsible for assisting in the coordination of service delivery, workforce management, quality and safety systems, financial performance, and continuous improvement activities across the residential aged care portfolio. The Deputy Operations Manager (DOM) provides direct leadership and management to the RACS Lifestyle and Administration Teams and acts as the key liaison with Allied Health services to support coordinated, person-centred care and resident wellbeing outcomes. Your Contribution
• Support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day operational management of Residential Aged Care Services.
• Provide direct line management and oversight of the Lifestyle and Administration Teams, ensuring effective delivery of resident lifestyle and wellbeing programs and administration functions.
• Acts as the key liaison between the service and Allied Health (AH) teams, facilitating communication, coordination of care and collaborative service planning.
• Act on behalf of the Operations Manager as delegated, including participation in relevant meetings, committees and service reviews.

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Residential Aged Care Services, the Deputy Operations Manager supports the effective operational management of SVHM’s residential aged care services across Berengarra, Auburn House and Prague House. The role supports service delivery, workforce management, quality and safety systems, financial performance and continuous improvement across the RACS portfolio. It provides direct leadership and management to the Lifestyle and Administration Teams and acts as a key liaison with Allied Health services. Working closely with Clinical Managers, the Director of Nursing, Business Manager, Allied Health professionals and multidisciplinary teams, the position supports the delivery of safe, person-centred and high-quality care in accordance with legislative, regulatory, accreditation and organisational requirements. The Deputy Operations Manager also acts on behalf of the Operations Manager as delegated and provides operational leadership to support service excellence, staff engagement and achievement of strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership and Service Delivery
- Support the day-to-day operational management of Residential Aged Care Services.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Lifestyle and Administration Teams.
- Act as a key liaison with Allied Health teams to support communication, coordinated care and service planning.
- Monitor operational performance and escalate emerging risks and issues.
- Coordinate service initiatives, operational projects and improvement activities.
- Act on behalf of the Operations Manager as delegated, including participation in meetings, committees and service reviews.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Support compliance with the Aged Care Act, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor quality indicators, incidents, complaints and consumer feedback and support improvement actions.
- Support clinical governance, risk management, accreditation and compliance systems.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement and resident-centred care.
Workforce Leadership
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to staff and direct reports.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, rostering and retention.
- Support employee development, performance reviews and leadership capability.
- Assist with workforce issues, performance concerns and employee wellbeing matters.
- Promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture aligned with SVHM values.
Financial and Resource Management
- Assist in monitoring staffing profiles, FTE, agency utilisation and expenditure against budget.
- Contribute to budget development, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Support the effective allocation and utilisation of resources across RACS.
Stakeholder Engagement and Service Development
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support engagement with residents, families, advocates, regulatory agencies and community partners.
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development and organisational improvement.
- Foster collaborative relationships across Continuing Care, SVHM and external service providers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A tertiary-level healthcare qualification.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current satisfactory National Police and NDIS clearance checks.
- Previous operational management experience within a healthcare setting, preferably within aged care.
- Extensive clinical leadership experience and knowledge, preferably within residential aged care or a similar service.
- Highly developed leadership and organisational skills, with demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary staff and functions.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of the Aged Care Act, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and contemporary aged care reform agenda.
- Experience supporting quality improvement, accreditation, audit preparation and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A strong commitment to person-centred care, resident rights and consumer engagement.
- Commitment to the Mission and Values of St Vincent’s Health Australia.
- A postgraduate qualification in healthcare or business administration is desirable.
Enterprise Agreements
This position may be covered by one of the following Enterprise Agreements, depending on the successful candidate’s professional background and classification:
- Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024–2028, or its successor.
- Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021–2026, or its successor.
Additional Requirements
This is a Category A position under the SVHM Employee Health Screening and Immunisation Policy. Appointment is subject to meeting applicable immunisation requirements.
The successful applicant will also be required to provide a current National Police Certificate prior to commencement and maintain appropriate NDIS Worker Screening clearance where applicable.
