About the opportunity:
At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll make a genuine difference when it’s needed the most by:
- Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
- Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
- Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
- Help maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
- Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
- Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The Virtual Rehabilitation Ward at Flinders Medical Centre provides care to people with complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs in their own home — in place of an extended or avoidable hospital admission.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, this role is responsible for provide specialist social work assessment, intervention and care planning to people with complex medical, functional and psychosocial needs — supporting them to remain in their own home in lieu of an extended or avoidable hospital admission.
Duties for the role will include:
- Commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan.
- Independently assessing clients’ abilities, problems and needs using a variety of formal and informal assessments as needed.
- Communicating with clients’ family, carers and other service providers.
- Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to clients.
- Initiating, developing and contributing to educational activities within the team.
About you:
- A degree or equivalent in Social Work, which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Demonstrated competence in the application of a wide range of assessment and therapeutic interventions to clients with complex needs.
- Ability to critically analyse or evaluate issues related to clinical care in social work in a manner which can be applied to quality activities, service evaluation or research.
- Experience providing social work services to people in a hospital setting.
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.

The Role
Dementia Support Australia offers a 24-hour Helpline service, providing expert behaviour management support for people with dementia over the phone, through our web-based chat, and via email.
The Helpline Consultant works closely with different services within DSA to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to reduce the impact of dementia related behaviour on people living with dementia, their carers and staff.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for families, care providers and people living with dementia who contact DSA. You will triage referrals, assess new clients over the phone, offer tailored recommendations to manage changes in behaviour, and provide support for existing clients.
This role is offered as a Fixed Term Full-time contract up until 30 June 2028 with flexibility to work across a variety of shifts throughout the week from our Osborne Park Office.

About the role:
Reporting to the Subacute Allied Health Director, the Director, Psychology provides high-level professional leadership and strategic direction for Psychology services across the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care. The role is integral to the development and delivery of contemporary, high-quality Psychology services and will contribute to divisional and system-wide priorities. Duties for the role will include:
- Provide professional leadership, governance and strategic direction across Psychology services.
- Lead the development, capability and professional standards of the Psychology workforce.
- Drive service innovation, quality improvement and the ongoing evaluation of Psychology services.
- Provide expert clinical consultation, senior clinical guidance and mentorship to Psychology staff.
- Undertake an allocated clinical caseload and provide operational support across the department as required.
- Build strong partnerships across the Division to optimise quality of life and outcomes for patients, families and colleagues.
About you:
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with an endorsed area of practice in Clinical and/or Health Psychology, and approved supervisor status at all levels of supervision.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in adult services, with broad clinical experience in the psychological management of adults across rehabilitation, aged or palliative care, particularly older people with neurological and cognitive impairments.
- Strong leadership capability, with the ability to build cohesive, high-performing teams and lead positive change.
- Advanced clinical expertise in evidence-based psychological practice, including professional supervision and multidisciplinary care.
- Proven ability to develop and improve Psychology services, quality programs and clinical practices, supported by strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and professional judgement.

Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary Qualifications in Nursing, Social Work or Clinical Psychology with current registration to practice with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association. For Clinical Psychology, a minimum Masters or PHD and endorsement in clinical psychology is required.

South East Regional Hospital is the regional referral centre for the expansive south coast regions from Bateman's Bay to Cooma and down past the Victorian border to Mallacoota. The state of the art hospital is equipped with 3 operating theatres, ICU, 5 inpatient wards and outpatient services. There is also a dedicated office for the Orthopaedic registrars as well as a shared JMO lounge. Rural unaccredited trainees will also be eligible to apply for scholarships through HETI to help with attending courses and conferences. Fully furnished shared accommodation is usually provided to registrars by the hospital.
What you'll be doing
The Orthopaedic Unaccredited Trainee is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Orthopaedic inpatients, providing an on-call service for SERH plus 3 surrounding hospitals within the health district. There is a good mix of elective and emergency operating with approximately 1200 operations performed annually. The unaccredited trainee will be responsible for the supervision the resident medical officer as well as rotating medical students from the ANU Medical School.
The Orthopaedic Department is staffed by 3 unaccredited trainee registrars and 1 AOA accredited trainee registrar with a regular 1 in 4 on-call rosters with occasional 1 in 3 on-calls during periods of leave. The well-supported unit allows unaccredited trainees to gain a well-rounded experience in Orthopaedics. The job allows registrars to rotate daily through being on-call, managing acute orthopaedic emergencies, elective and emergency operating lists and outpatient clinics. There are a wide range of educational activities on offer including regular journal clubs, weekly X-ray meetings, teaching, quarterly Morbidity and Mortality meetings and the opportunity to take on research projects. This position would suit both an experienced registrar looking to hone their operative skills with a view to apply for the AOA Training Program or a junior registrar looking for a well-balanced introduction into Orthopaedic Surgery.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category

WSLHD - Senior Registrar - Melanoma and Surgical Oncology - Westmead Hospital
Where you'll be working
Westmead Hospital is a key facility of one of Australia’s largest major health and medical research precincts and is the principal referral hospital for Western Sydney Local Health District providing district level health services to Parramatta, Holroyd and The Hills Shire LGAs including tertiary and quaternary services to greater western Sydney, greater metropolitan Sydney, rural NSW and other states. Westmead Hospital provides approximately 638 acute overnight, 30 day only and 52 subacute beds. The Westmead Health Precinct currently under development is envisaged to be the biggest hospital building project undertaken in Western Sydney and will transform the iconic but ageing Westmead Hospital into an innovative, contemporary and integrated centre that will continue to deliverhigh quality healthcare and expand the education, health and research capability of the area.
Westmead Hospital is a leading centre of research, training and specialisations in all fields of medicine and dentistry, providing services in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, cancer care, obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatal intensive care, trauma, bone marrow transplantation, critical care, aged care and rehabilitation, adult acute psychiatry (networked with the co-located Cumberland Hospital) as well as other highly specialised medical and surgical services.
The Westmead Hospital Emergency Department (ED) operates 24 hours, 7 days per week and manages all types and levels of illnesses and injuries. As one of six major trauma centres in the state, the ED also cares for people with the most severe physical injuries.
Westmead Hospital ED presentation numbers are among the highest in the state. Critical care services within Westmead Hospital are provided by the Intensive care unit and the medical and surgical high dependency units. Other specialist services that provide a high dependency level of care for patients within their clinical specialty wards include the Coronary Care Unit, Renal and Pancreas Transplantation and Haematology.
Over 120 different outpatient clinics for a number of different specialities and services provide ambulatory care to approximately 5,000 attendances per month.
The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead is a purpose-built state of the art facility based at Westmead Hospital. The Centre provides fully integrated research, prevention, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation programs for patients and families coping with cancer. Palliative care and symptom control support, genetic counselling via the familial cancer service and Psych Oncology support via an onsite psychiatrist and psychologists is also provided at the Cancer Centre. A significant number of clinical trials are available for our patients when appropriate and we have the support of dedicated cancer laboratories undertaking current cancer research. The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre is a statewide referral centre for Blood Transplant and Cellular Therapies. Our model of care includes a large number of tumour specific multi-disciplinary teams.
Westmead Hospital is one of Australia’s largest centres for postgraduate training to specialist levels in all fields with over 100 PhD students and other postgraduate students supervised by Westmead Hospital scientists and clinicians. Westmead is home to internationally recognised institutes of health research, the most prominent being the Westmead Millennium Institute. The Westmead Millennium Institute is one of the largest medical research institutes in Australia, conducting research into a wide range of human disorders affecting both adults and children, including infectious and immune diseases, cancer and leukaemia, liver and metabolic diseases, eye and brain related disorders and heart and respiratory disorders.
What you'll be doing
WSLHD - Senior Registrar - Melanoma and Surgical Oncology - Westmead Hospital
- Provision of surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care of surgical oncology unit patients, undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research.
-Involvement in MDT meetings for sarcoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma and thyroid cancer.
-Participation in the roster for on-call for the Acute Surgical Unit.
-Involvement in audit meetings for the Department and General Surgery
-Responsibility for the maintenance of quality of all aspects of service delivery and the efficient use of resources within Western Sydney Local Health District.

- Sound clinical knowledge and experience in general surgery/ head and neck surgery/surgical oncology
- Familiarity with the natural history and biological behaviour of melanoma, non- melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), thyroid cancer, sarcoma and malignancy of the head and neck.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence based best practice. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.

Westmead Hospital is a key facility of one of Australia’s largest major health and medical research precincts and is the principal referral hospital for Western Sydney Local Health District providing district level health services to Parramatta, Holroyd and The Hills Shire LGAs including tertiary and quaternary services to greater Western Sydney, greater metropolitan Sydney, rural NSW and other states. The Westmead Health Precinct currently under development is envisaged to be the largest hospital building project undertaken in Western Sydney and will transform the iconic but ageing Westmead Hospital into an innovative, contemporary, and integrated centre that will continue to deliver high quality healthcare and expand the education, health, and research capability of the area.
Westmead Hospital is a leading centre of research, training and specialisation in all fields of Medicine and Dentistry, providing services in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Kidney and Pancreas transplantation, Cancer Care, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Trauma, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Critical Care, Aged Care and Rehabilitation, Adult Acute Psychiatry (networked with the co-located Cumberland Hospital) as well as other specialised medical and surgical services.
Intensive care unit in Westmead hospital comprises of 46 beds including 10 beds for post cardiac surgical patients. Common ICU admissions include complex medical cases such as sepsis, severe respiratory or cardiac failure, complicated bone marrow and kidney transplant, and surgical cases including trauma, neurosurgery, vascular, cardiothoracic, ENT, plastic surgery, urology, upper GI, hepatobiliary, and colorectal procedures.
What you'll be doing
WSLHD - Advanced Trainee - Intensive Care
· Advanced trainees will be allocated clinical shifts on a roster including day and night shifts.
· As a member of ICU medical team to participate in the management of critically ill patients in the ICU, or on outreach service, under the direct or indirect supervision of intensive care senior medical staff.
· Daily duties include patient assessment, documentation in patient records, preparation of discharge summaries, ordering, and reviewing investigations, performing ICU procedures such as line insertion, communicating with other specialty teams and patients’ family members.
· Advanced trainees are expected to be relatively independent in assessing patients, formulating a management plan, managing airways, inserting central venous and arterial lines, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation under the supervision of a more senior member of intensive care team.
· Advanced trainees participate in the Trauma calls, attend emergencies on the wards as a member of hospital based clinical emergency response system (CERS), and review patients referred to ICU from wards, ED, and recovery unit. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are crucial to maximise performance while on these duties.
· Advanced trainees are expected to lead and contribute to the supervision of more junior medical staff and participate in teaching activities.
The ICU advanced trainee will be supervised by the duty ICU consultant for day to day activities. Supervisors of Training will be allocated in accordance with requirements from the College of Intensive Care Medicine.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
- Completion of four (4) years post graduate experience at commencement of position, with a minimum of one year work experience in an ICU. Completion of CICM primary exam or equivalent.
- Clinical experience, cognitive skills, and basic technical skills appropriate for managing critically ill patients independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills in the clinical setting.
- Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education, quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
- Demonstrated career goal to undertake further training in intensive care medicine or other critical care specialities.
