St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery.
Our Servicesincludewide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.
Your role
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurses to join our Diabetes Service as Diabetes Educators. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in both inpatient and outpatient diabetes management while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment.
Comprehensive orientation, mentoring, and ongoing professional support will be provided by the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant and Diabetes Service team, enabling you to build confidence in practice and deliver high-quality patient care. The successful candidates will also have access to supported credentialing as a Diabetes Educator.
We currently have one permanent part-time position, working 2 days per week (8:00am to 4:00pm), as well as one casual opportunity. If you are passionate about diabetes care, patient education, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with diabetes, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support for the assessment, education, and management of inpatients and outpatients with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, gestational and steroid-induced diabetes.
Assist with blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and patient education under the guidance of the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant.
Participate in diabetes-related group education sessions for patients and staff.
Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to promote safe and effective diabetes care.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records and contribute to discharge planning.
Essential Requirements
You will possess current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Education or significant progress towards attaining this qualification.
You will demonstrate interest and experience in diabetes management and patient education, with the ability to support individuals in the self-management of their condition. Proven capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, coupled with a strong commitment to patient-centred care and collaborative practice as part of a diabetes service team. Previous exposure to diabetes care in acute or outpatient settings is advantageous

About the role
This exciting position is for a Registered Nurse with a passion for Rural Health. The position will work across all domains in the MPS including our 12-bed residential aged care facility and Community Primary Health
The primary site for this position is Gulargambone but there may be a requirement to work in other sites such as Gilgandra and Coonamble MPS.

Rural nurses are called on to respond to a broader range of emergency and health needs, hence are encouraged and supported to develop skills to work to the top of their scope of practice, experiencing far greater autonomy than in larger hospitals.
Our rural based multipurpose sites are small hospitals and some also contain aged care. Rural nurses work across settings in emergency, acute care, aged care, chronic disease, child health, primary care, mental health, dialysis, palliative, and health promotion. Nurse work in small teams or on their own, supported 24/7 by a world leading virtual care model utilising state of the art telehealth technology.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse – Mental Health, you will provide high-quality clinical care that promotes the psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing of young people experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with consumers, families and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, coordinated and recovery-focused care.
Provide evidence-based nursing care across the mental health spectrum, including comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention and evaluation.
Develop therapeutic relationships with young people and their families, supporting engagement, safety and positive mental health outcomes.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate treatment and achieve individualised care goals.

As a Medical Workforce Administration Officer, you will provide professional administrative support across medical workforce recruitment, onboarding, compliance and ongoing workforce administration. Working collaboratively with medical staff and key stakeholders, you will help coordinate workforce processes, maintain accurate records and contribute to the efficient operation of Medical Services.
Key responsibilities
Support the recruitment and onboarding of medical practitioners, locums and visiting specialists.
Coordinate medical workforce compliance requirements, including AHPRA registration, police clearances, mandatory training and credentialing documentation.
Source locum coverage, coordinating travel, accommodation and associated administration.
Assist with medical staff leave management and workforce planning activities.
Support credentialing activities and associated committee administration.
Maintain medical workforce databases, records, spreadsheets and reporting systems.
Prepare correspondence, reports, agendas, meeting papers and minutes as required.
Coordinate network access and onboarding requirements for medical students and medical staff.
Provide high-quality administrative support to the Medical Workforce Team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You will have high level experience in an administrative role with excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to organise tasks and set priorities, work effectively under pressure and meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. You will have experience developing written reports, minute taking and other business correspondence with a high level of attention to detail and professional presentation of work.
To succeed you will have advanced word processing and computer literacy skills with experience using Microsoft Office suite. The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain strict confidentiality is essential.

Relocating to Level 3 of the Catherine McAuley Building in August 2018, the Operating Theatre Complex is a bright and modern department which has 6 operating theatres and 12 Stage 1 Recovery bays. A fully electronic patient tracking system (T-DOC) which includes endoscopy services has been implemented across the perioperative services.
- The NUM will play a pivotal role in the delivery of services and work within ACORN, NSQHS, AS5369 and GENCA Standards and Guidelines
- The NUM will foster a collaborative approach to all staff and stakeholders and will maintain a safe working environment conducive with the Mercy Mission and Values
- Lead the day-to-day running of the perioperative unit (theatre optimization, staffing, patient experience) and develop the unit
- Coaching and developing your team so they grow
- Ensure quality, compliance and accreditation are promoted and achieved

Your part in our UnitingCare team:
- Lead small, defined advisory engagements and take ownership of workstreams within larger or more complex initiatives.

- Partner with leaders to analyse issues, identify opportunities and develop practical recommendations that drive meaningful outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder consultations and problem-solving sessions that translate insights into clear actions
- Develop high-quality executive-ready presentations, briefing papers, project plans, implementation plans, that support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to the growth of a high-performing Advisory and Delivery Services practice, helping establish ways of working, tools and capabilities that create long-term value across UnitingCare.
What makes a difference for us?
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, strategy, operations, health administration or a related discipline, or equivalent advisory and project delivery experience.
- Five to seven years’ experience in management consulting, internal advisory, project delivery, transformation, operational improvement or change management.
- Experience contributing to a broad range of consulting or delivery assignments, from problem definition and analysis through to implementation.
- Demonstrated project and engagement delivery capability.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complexity into practical solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and written communication and presentation skills.
- Experience preparing clear, concise and high-quality materials for senior leaders and decision-making forums.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes through strong judgement, collaboration and quality work.
- An understanding of health, aged care or broader human services environments
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, ambiguity and changing requirements.

About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Nurse Educator to join the Learning Team at Werribee Mercy Hospital in a fixed-term position within the Intensive Care Unit.
As the champion of education, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating learning activities in the Intensive Care Unit for both staff and learners.
- To provide educational leadership and guidance to enable the development of knowledge and skill.
- The clinical educator works in partnership with Learning Team and the Intensive Care Unit to ensure continuing professional development activities are in line with the delivery of clinical excellence.
- Identifies and priorities the professional development needs of nursing staff and learners.
What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care/Critical Care Nursing

- Recent education experience
- Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
