The Position
Lead medical services across South Australia’s most expansive health region — the Eyre Peninsula and Far North.
The EDMS is a foundational leadership appointment, accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the LHN Leadership Team. The role sets the medical strategy across eleven hospital sites and one of the highest proportions of First Nations residents in the state.
Lead recruitment, credentialing and orientation of Medical Officers, registrars and locums across the LHN. Steward scope of practice under SA Health policy and support the regional workforce to achieve college and Medical Board competencies.
Own clinical governance for safe, high-quality medical care across eleven sites. Coordinate resident and visiting specialists, SMOs, GPs, SA Ambulance, SA Retrieval and Rural & Remote Mental Health — implementing the SA Health Clinical Services Capability Framework across a vast footprint.
Provide oversight and strategic direction for Clinical Trials and Research across the network, developing research governance aligned to the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework and building a learning culture in teaching and quality improvement.

The Position
As an endorsed Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced autonomous clinical care within the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients within an approved scope of practice.

The Youth Hospital in the Home (Y‑HiTH) team is part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in North‑West Tasmania. Based in Devonport, this multidisciplinary team provides intensive, home‑based mental health care for young people aged 16–24. Their work addresses a critical service gap in the region by offering timely mental health support outside of hospital settings.
The Position
Permanent full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Be part of a multidisciplinary youth mental health service (16-25 years of age) delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
You will need to:
- Provide clinical expertise in contemporary nursing practice within the Y-HiTH setting, promoting professional standards of practice and an environment conducive to innovation and change that promotes best practice and meets established accreditation standards of practice.
- Maintain and display advanced clinical practice skills within the Y-HiTH and act as a resource person to other members of the multidisciplinary team in the management of complex clinical issues.

ResponsibilitiesThe Mental Health Ambulance and Police Project (MHAPP) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will provide a highly mobile, recovery orientated clinical assessment, consultancy and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health related cases in the community. They will also provide clinical leadership in virtual assessment of consumers in the community who are geographically isolated. The MHAPP CNC works with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide mental health triage, primary consumer assessment and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level. The position holder will be required to possess extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and demonstrated clinical practices to provide support, treatment, coordination and education to emergency services who work with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs. The position may be based in one of a number of locations for their shifts, including the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Nowra regions. The Royal Hobart Hospital Low Vision Clinic provides specialist assessment, person-centred rehabilitation advice and clinical management for people experiencing significant vision impairment from across Tasmania. Working closely with Ophthalmology, Orthoptics, Allied Health professionals, rehabilitation providers and community organisations, the service delivers person-centred care that supports independence, participation and quality of life.
The RoleThis role is ideal for an experienced Optometrist and presents an opportunity to expand their clinical impact through specialist statewide service, while maintaining an existing private practice or other professional eye care role.
You will need- High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with patients, hospital staff and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated interest in low vision rehabilitation and a willingness to participate in on-the job training and mentoring. Prior experience in low vision is ideal but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to apply person-centred rehabilitation assessment and therapeutic intervention planning.
- Proven ability to practice in the absence of general professional guidance, exercising sound professional judgement whilst working within a multidisciplinary team and environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education. As a teaching hospital, staff at the Royal Hobart Hospital require an ability and willingness to undertake teaching and mentoring of students and staff.

About this OpportunityAs a Remote Community Enrolled Nurse, you will be inspired to provide high quality, culturally appropriate nursing care for patients within a remote healthcare environment across both primary and emergency healthcare, under the direct supervision of a Remote Area Nurse.
You will be motivated to consult with healthcare recipients, their families and community as well as registered nurses, midwives and other health professionals, to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to patients across remote South Australia.

Specifically, you will:- Provide afterhours emergency first response when required, which includes driving the RFDS SA/NT remote clinic ambulance and assisting the Remote Area Registered Nurse in the provision of emergency scene response and patient care - within the scope of Enrolled Nurse Practice.
- Interact with other members of the multidisciplinary Health Care Team to plan and evaluate patient/client care progress.
- Maintain accountability delivering remote healthcare within NMBA and own standards.
- Maintain accurate and legible records to enable ongoing safe patient care, documented in accordance with RFDS SA/NT and SA Health standards.
You are:
- An experienced Enrolled Nurse with an adventurous spirit who enjoys making a positive difference to the health outcomes of individuals living in remote and rural communities.
- An excellent communicator who can easily relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
- A highly organised individual with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
- An enthusiastic and compassionate professional, who can remain calm and solve problems in complex situations.
- A minimum 2.5 years post graduate experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
- A minimum 6 months post graduate experience in a rural health facility which includes an accident and emergency department or 6 months post graduate experience in a primary care or correctional healthcare facility.
- Current registration with APHRA as an Enrolled nurse. Your current practising certificate is without notation 'Does not hold Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines. (Enrolled Nurses with this notation will be unable to be considered for this position).
- Basic Life Support and/or Intermediate Life Support, with evidence of enrolment in - or completion of - Advanced Life Support.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

About this OpportunityAs a Remote Community Enrolled Nurse, you will be inspired to provide high quality, culturally appropriate nursing care for patients within a remote healthcare environment across both primary and emergency healthcare, under the direct supervision of a Remote Area Nurse.
You will be motivated to consult with healthcare recipients, their families and community as well as registered nurses, midwives and other health professionals, to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to patients across remote South Australia.
These positions are based in multiple locations throughout rural South Australia and accommodation is provided whilst on shift.
Specifically, you will:- Provide afterhours emergency first response when required, which includes driving the RFDS SA/NT remote clinic ambulance and assisting the Remote Area Registered Nurse in the provision of emergency scene response and patient care - within the scope of Enrolled Nurse Practice.
- Interact with other members of the multidisciplinary Health Care Team to plan and evaluate patient/client care progress.
- Maintain accountability delivering remote healthcare within NMBA and own standards.
- Maintain accurate and legible records to enable ongoing safe patient care, documented in accordance with RFDS SA/NT and SA Health standards.
You are:
- An experienced Enrolled Nurse with an adventurous spirit who enjoys making a positive difference to the health outcomes of individuals living in remote and rural communities.
- An excellent communicator who can easily relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
- A highly organised individual with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
- An enthusiastic and compassionate professional, who can remain calm and solve problems in complex situations.
- A minimum 2.5 years post graduate experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
- A minimum 6 months post graduate experience in a rural health facility which includes an accident and emergency department or 6 months post graduate experience in a primary care or correctional healthcare facility.
- Current registration with APHRA as an Enrolled nurse. Your current practising certificate is without notation 'Does not hold Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines. (Enrolled Nurses with this notation will be unable to be considered for this position).
- Basic Life Support and/or Intermediate Life Support, with evidence of enrolment in - or completion of - Advanced Life Support.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- A current and valid drivers licence, issued from an Australian state or territory.
- Experience with driving a manual 4WD vehicle.
