The role - Te mahi
The University is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Professional Practice Fellows in Dentistry.
As a Senior Professional Practice Fellow, you will help support teaching, facilitate learning, assist with assessments, and carry out clinical service/clinical activity both on undergraduate clinics and staff clinics out of term time.
Some key tasks of the role include:
Clinical teaching/tutoring of undergraduate dentists.
Contributing to the Department’s academic goals by applying expert clinical knowledge in your area of specialty.
Preparation, assessment, teaching, and paper administration duties.
Following through patient care and referrals within the hospital.

Successful applicants:
Must hold a dental degree and have registration or be eligible for full registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand.
Will demonstrate the ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels within the institution.
Show a commitment to uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the University’s Māori Strategic Framework.
Candidates will also have and maintain registration (if supervised), including:
A practicing certificate in place before starting work.
Indemnity in place prior to starting work.

We have eight job openings, offering both permanent and fixed-term positions, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
We have opportunities for Dentists with special interests in Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Periodontics.
Both full-time (1 FTE) and part-time positions are available, allowing for employment over the full year or semester time only. The duration of any fixed-term positions can be negotiable with the successful candidates. International candidates would need to be available to work minimum 0.8 FTE.
The salary range for these positions is $109,554 to $184,993 per annum (pro rata). Candidates will be appointed to a step on the Senior Professional Practice Fellow scale 3 or 4, dependent on qualifications and skills.

This is a full-time, ongoing Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor appointment based at our Auckland (Albany) campus. Salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, and academic achievement, with appointment made at either Senior Lecturer (NZ$107,919 - $152,711) or Associate Professor (NZ$142,607 - $166,584) level.
Reporting to the Head of the Institute of Education Te Kura o te Mātauranga and Director of Accredited Programmes, in association with the Kaihautū Māori, you will contribute to learning and teaching, professional practice, student supervision, research and scholarship, and service within the Institute and wider University community.
The role will include a focused contribution within speech language therapy programmes. In addition, opportunities and engagement across undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes may be possible based on interests and expertise.
The Institute of Education offers a suite of respected programmes for initial teacher education, specialist teachers, counsellors, educational and developmental psychologists, speech language therapists, and professional learning and researcher development for experienced educators, leaders, and practitioners.
Our speech language therapy programmes include the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy with Honours (BSLT[Hons]) and the Master of Speech and Language Therapy.
The BSLT[Hons] programme prepares graduates to work with children, young people, and adults with speech, language, communication, voice, feeding and swallowing difficulties, combining academic study with extensive supervised clinical experience. The programme has a strong emphasis on integrated clinical learning, enabling students to progressively build competence through simulation, university clinics, and external placements under the supervision of experienced speech-language therapists.
The Master of Speech and Language Therapy provides qualified speech-language therapists with advanced clinical and research training, enabling them to deepen their expertise, engage with current issues in the profession, and contribute to evidence-informed practice and research.
The distance programmes are enhanced through our Auckland-based Speechlanguage Therapy Clinic, which provides assessment and intervention services for children and adults with communication, voice, feeding, swallowing, and language needs, while offering an authentic clinical learning environment for speech-language therapy students under professional supervision.

The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.

Essential Criteria
- Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or other relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to implement complex strategies to build buy-in and support from key internal and external clients or stakeholders. Use a variety of different influencing approaches tailored to different clients.

Top Range Estimate: $500,000 - $520,000+ AUD
- Base Salary (No Private Practice) $415,878
- Director / Management Allowance (Est.) $20,790 – $41,587
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) $30,468
- Superannuation Cap (ATO statutory limit) ~$32,500
- Rural Attraction / Regional Retention Varying local incentive

The Position
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Director of Medical Services (DMS) - Armidale Rural Referral Hospital. We are looking for an energetic, visionary and collaborative medical leader to provide expert professional and clinical leadership to the medical workforce for Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, providing support to its surrounding referral sites. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of rural and regional healthcare while working within one of Australia's largest and most diverse health districts.
As Director of Medical Services, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality, safe clinical services, performance management and wellbeing of junior and senior medical staff, and strategic workforce planning to ensure the medical workforce is operating at its full potential. You will work closely with the General Manager to drive service excellence and support a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
You will also join an experienced network of Director of Medical Services colleagues across Hunter New England Local Health District, working collaboratively to drive innovation, excellence and positive change across the region.

Selection Criteria
A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of an Australian specialist medical college, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is desirable, but not essential.
Proven ability to function as part of a large results oriented senior leadership and management team and to work successfully with other professionals in the leadership and management of health care services in a manner that reflects Excellence and the values of the NSW Health Service.
Demonstrated understanding of industrial, legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare and the complexities of providing healthcare services within the NSW public health system.
Demonstrated understanding of financial management and experience in managing budgets, costing services, negotiating and managing contracts.
Knowledge of current professional standards of practice including "Framework for Managing Quality of Health Services in NSW", the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, NSW Work Health & Safety Act and NSW Health Enterprise Wide
Risk Management Policy & Framework, HETI and College requirements.
Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills including superior written and presentation skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
Experience with, and commitment to, clinical governance and clinical best practice, quality improvement and ensuring psychological safety. Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the medical workforce issues that may impact Armidale Rural Referral Hospital and an ability to develop appropriate strategies to address same.
