Access Telehealth is expanding our national specialist network and is seeking Endocrinologists to provide Telehealth consultations to patients across Australia, with a significant focus on people living in Residential Aged Care.
This is a flexible opportunity designed to complement your existing clinical practice. Consult remotely, determine your availability and focus on clinical care while our team manages the coordination around you.
Why Join Access Telehealth? Our model has demonstrated 51% fewer Emergency Department presentations and 37% fewer unplanned hospital admissions across an internal retrospective audit of 679 residents across 11 Residential Aged Care Homes.
Focus on medicine, not administration
Our clinical and operations teams coordinate appointments, patient connection and consultation support, allowing you to focus on assessment, clinical decision making and recommendations.
Make specialist care more accessible
For older Australians living in Residential Aged Care, attending an external specialist appointment can be difficult. Our model brings specialist expertise directly into the resident's home through Telehealth, reducing barriers to timely care.
Work as part of the resident's broader clinical team
You won't be consulting in isolation. Residents are supported through a GP led multidisciplinary model involving Access Nurses, geriatricians, specialist physicians and other healthcare providers, with shared care planning and ongoing GP oversight.
Flexible around your existing commitments
Consult remotely from anywhere in Australia and nominate availability that works alongside your hospital, private practice, research or other professional commitments.
Continuity, not one off consultations
Where clinically appropriate, residents can continue seeing the same specialist for follow up consultations, supporting greater familiarity and continuity of care.
The OpportunityAs an Access Telehealth Endocrinologist, you'll provide specialist consultations and follow ups through our purpose built Telehealth model.
Your caseload may include patients requiring assessment and management across areas such as:
- Diabetes and medication optimisation
- Osteoporosis and bone health
- Thyroid disorders
- Metabolic and endocrine conditions
- Other non urgent endocrine presentations within your scope of practice
For our Residential Aged Care patients, these presentations often sit within a broader picture of multimorbidity, polypharmacy, frailty and changing clinical needs.
Our model is designed around early intervention and coordinated care. Residents receive proactive chronic disease, falls and bone health, medication and other clinical reviews, with specialist expertise incorporated when required.
Following consultation, your recommendations are communicated back to the resident's GP and care team so ongoing care can be coordinated locally.
How It WorksThe resident's clinician provides a specialist referral.
We coordinate the rest.
Our team arranges the appointment and prepares the resident for their consultation. For residents within our aged care model, an Access Aged Care Nurse supports the Telehealth consultation on site. Family members or support people can also participate where appropriate.
You provide the specialist assessment and recommendations remotely, and we help ensure the resident's GP and care team have the information required to continue their care.
About YouWe're interested in hearing from Endocrinologists who value collaborative care and want to make specialist expertise more accessible.
You'll have:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Endocrinology, or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
- Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain it
- You must be able to bill through Medicare
- Confidence managing a broad range of endocrine presentations
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to provide clear, practical recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative approach to working with GPs, nurses and other clinicians
- Confidence using technology to deliver high quality clinical care remotely
Experience in aged care or geriatric medicine is highly regarded, but not essential. Endocrinologists with an interest in diabetes in older adults, osteoporosis, bone health, multimorbidity or complex chronic disease are particularly encouraged to apply.
About Access TelehealthAccess Telehealth connects Australians with healthcare regardless of where they live.
Through Access Aged Care, our clinicians work within a coordinated model designed to identify health concerns earlier, improve access to specialist expertise and reduce unnecessary transfers to hospital.
Specialists work alongside residents' GPs, Access Nurses and care teams rather than operating as a separate service. Telehealth enables residents to access specialist expertise from their aged care home when clinically appropriate.
Interested? If you're looking for a flexible way to expand your specialist practice while improving access to endocrinology care across Australia, we'd like to hear from you.

We are in the middle of the most ambitious period of growth and change in our history.
We are looking for an experienced operational executive to lead our Disability, Education and Care, and Family and Mental Health portfolio for twelve months while the substantive General Manager is on parental leave.
The year ahead- Our sector is in the middle of a significant period of reform across disability, family and children's services and the systems that fund them. You will lead through it: holding performance, quality and participant continuity steady while policy settings, funding models and service expectations shift, and leading our people through that change with honesty and care.
- Our first long day care centre is expected to open during your term. You will take an agreed operating model and make it real: approvals, leadership, workforce, enrolments and a centre where child safety is built into the way it runs, whilst securing additional opportunities to expand our services within this sector.
- Our Growth Strategy commits us to diversifying and strengthening our service mix, so we can keep delivering for our communities. You will help us identify, test and pursue the opportunities that genuinely fit our purpose, and bring the operational rigour that turns an opportunity into a service that works.
Our strategic direction is set. What we need is someone who can deliver it exceptionally well, in the months when it becomes real for participants, families and staff.
About the roleReporting to our Co-CEO and leading a team of Senior Managers, you will be accountable for the performance, quality, safety, financial results and people outcomes of a large and diverse portfolio: NDIS Partner in the Community (Local Area Coordination and Early Childhood), early childhood education and care, and family and mental health services. You will sit on the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to decisions for the whole organisation, not only your portfolio.
What you will bring- Senior operational leadership experience in health, human services, education and care, or a comparable regulated environment, with genuine accountability for financial and service performance
- Experience leading teams through significant change, reform or transition, handled in a way you are still proud of
- Experience establishing a new service, program or site, ideally in a licensed, accredited or regulated setting
- Strong commercial judgement, and the discipline to know your numbers early rather than late
- A deep commitment to child safety, participant rights and person-centred practice, and the ability to satisfy yourself that services are safe when you cannot see them every day
- A track record of identifying, pursuing and securing new service or funding opportunities, including through partnerships
- Credibility with funders, regulators and community partners, and the ability to build those relationships quickly
- An understanding of what service delivery actually takes in rural, regional and remote communities
- A degree or equivalent in management or a health or human services discipline
- A portfolio with real consequence, and the authority to lead it
- An Executive Leadership Team that makes decisions together and supports each other through hard ones
- $150k per annum, plus Salary Packaging and Car Allowance, under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
- Flexible working arrangements and a base negotiable across our footprint
- A thorough handover from the current General Manager before you start
- An organisation with more than 50 years of standing in its communities, and an ambitious strategy to 2030
Intereach is a well-respected community organisation supporting 38 local government areas with over 550 staff and more than 30 impactful programs. We're proud of our strong culture and our vision of Strong Connected Communities. We believe in people, and we invest in your growth and wellbeing.
