Unaccredited Trainee, Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Lismore Base Hospital & Richmond Network
Apply now for an Unaccredited Trainee (PGY4+) position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the 2027 Clinical Year (commencing 1 February 2027) within the Northern Rivers - Richmond Network (Lismore Base Hospital, Ballina District Hospital, Casino Memorial Hospital).
The Unaccredited Trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics. They will also gain valuable experience to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment.
Education: Formal JMO teaching in Lismore includes a regular weekly teaching schedule and monthly Grand Rounds (Whole Hospital). We also work closely with the University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) who offer valuable teaching and simulations for medical officers in training.
Where you'll be working
Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service.
The hospital is an acute regional referral hospital of 280 beds on the Far North Coast of NSW, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW and has a busy Emergency Department (40,000 presentations annually), ICU and Coronary Care Unit, as well as Surgery (general, orthopaedic and speciality surgery), Paediatrics, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
LBH is an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney and Bond University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers.
Our region encompasses World Heritage listed rainforests and the pristine beaches of Evans Head, Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay. This area is blessed by year-round sun, a tropical climate and a short winter. What you'll be doing
Unaccredited Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatients (e.g. antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology) clinics.
This position can contribute towards a RANZCOG diploma or assist trainees to obtain an accredited RANZCOG training position in the future.

Position details
The Team
Cardiac Physiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital enjoy a collaborative environment, working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. As well as echocardiography, members of the Cardiac Physiologist team specialise in rhythm management including cardiac device management, and electrophysiology and there is opportunity to work within more than one of these disciplines.
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania.
The Role
You will perform high-quality trans-thoracic echocardiograms in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. You will liaise closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team to support best practice care of our patients. You will find our practice exposes you to a wide range of pathophysiology in adult echocardiography, including structural heart, intensive care and cardiothoracic surgical patients. There is also opportunity to be involved in paediatric, adult congenital and exercise echocardiography. We operate an after-hours on-call service.
You will need
- Significant experience as a Cardiac Physiologist in the field of echocardiography with a sound knowledge of cardiac physiology including cardiovascular haemodynamics and rhythm interpretation.
- Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals and students and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the field of echocardiography.
- You will have ASAR accreditation in cardiac ultrasound or be eligible for ASAR accreditation.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing 26 October 2026.

Salary

You will need
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience in policy analysis, policy development, strategic planning and project management within a complex environment.
- Demonstrated high level project management and leadership skills, including experience in formulating and managing complex and diverse projects, including determining milestones and objectives, and providing solutions and recommendations that support service delivery outcomes.

The Role
By understanding front-line business activities and challenges, the Consultant – Business Analysis considers people, policies, processes, clinical governance frameworks, and technology, to support hospitals, health and corporate services in identifying effective solutions underpinned by technology that meets business requirements, delivers measurable benefits, and contributes to the effective initiation and management of projects.
Experience in health billing and revenue is highly regarded. This includes working knowledge of Medicare claiming (including bulk billing and ECLIPSE), private patient election and health fund claiming, compensable and Medicare-ineligible patient billing. Candidates who understand how patient registration, clinical documentation and coding flow through to compliant claims and revenue will be well placed to translate operational needs into system and process requirements.

- Highly developed business analysis skills, including demonstrated experience in analysing business processes and thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Significant expertise in project management together with high level skills and extensive experience in the analysis and implementation of business process improvements and change management.

The Role
This is a significant senior nursing leadership opportunity within Tasmania's public health system.
As Nursing Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing, administrative and support service staff across the Northern Cancer Service. Working closely with the Clinical Director and Manager/ Chief Radiation Therapist of the Northern Cancer Service and key stakeholders, you will lead service delivery, workforce planning, quality and safety initiatives, clinical governance, and service development activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing nursing, administrative and support services across multiple sites.
- Driving excellence in patient-centred cancer care.
- Providing strategic leadership in quality, safety, research and education.
- Managing human, financial and physical resources to achieve service objectives.
- Leading workforce development, performance management and succession planning.
- Championing innovation, service redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable cancer services for the Tasmanian community

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
The location is in Launceston with an expectation to work across Northern Cancer Service sites as required.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$142,632 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

What you'll be doing
The Advanced Trainee will provide effective clinical management of patients, working under the supervision of Specialist Cardiologists to care for patients presenting or referred with potential cardiac disease, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
The role includes patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures, maintaining adequate medical records, organising and interpreting appropriate investigations.
The Advanced Trainee will medically manage conditions such as acute and chronic coronary disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease including endocarditis, and hypertension, with initial management of arrhythmias and pericardial disease, basic adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension, and prevention of heart disease; and undertake supervised general medical management of patients admitted to the Cardiology department.
The Advanced Trainee will undertake dedicated terms for procedures including coronary angiography, echocardiography, electrophysiology and other procedural and clinical aspects relevant to Cardiology.
The doctor is a key person who works closely with all members of staff and must: Work as part of, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team. Deal with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature. Must have the ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality. Work co-operatively within a team environment and actively contribute to team activities including pro-actively participating in team meetings and decision making processes.
The advanced trainee will be expected to make independent decisions on patient care. They will duly consult with the responsible consultant Cardiologist in a timely manner, according to the clinical urgency.
- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- A minimum of two (2) full years of postgraduate experience by the start of the 2019 clinical year.
- Demonstrated recent relevant experience in clinical medicine and ability to work in a complex clinical environment.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealings with patients, team members and supervisors.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, teaching, research, quality improvement and/or clinical leadership in medicine.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in a clinical setting within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to apply clinical knowledge and concepts in practical situations in the context of multiple competing priorities.
- Current registration as a Basic Physician Trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or eligible for) and intent to obtain Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Join Epworth Richmond's team as an Anaesthetics / PACU Registered Nurse on either a full-time or part-time basis. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, caring for patients across a diverse range of surgical specialties, including endoscopy, general surgery, ENT, plastics, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, plastics, urology and cardiothoracic surgery!
You will have:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience working in Anaesthetics or PACU
- Ability to work a rotational roster of AM / PM and twilight shifts
- Broad experience gained across a variety of surgical specialties
You will make a difference by:
- Planning, reviewing and implementing patient anaesthetics and recovery care
- Recognising and responding to changing needs of the patient
- Applying a safety-first mindset that sees a positive patient experience outcome

The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD AUD $85,732- $107,669 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
