About the role:
- Assisting with meal preparation, meal service and dining room support
- Cleaning resident rooms and shared areas to a high standard
- Providing laundry services, including caring for resident clothing and linen
- Supporting residents with warm, respectful and person-centred service
- Following food safety, infection control and hygiene practices
- Working as part of the hospitality team to deliver quality daily services
Role requirements:
- Experience in hospitality, food services, cleaning, laundry or a similar role
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to providing quality service
- Understanding of food safety, infection control and cleaning practices
- Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain

Your part in the Blue Care Team
Our dynamic retirement livings team at Argyle Gardens Retirement Village in Bundaberg is looking for committed and passionate Retirement Living Assistants to join their dedicated and close-knit team on a part time basis. Blue Care operate over 32 retirement villages across Queensland, with more than 3,300 residents choosing to make a Blue Care communities their home. Reporting to the Village Manager, the role will see you provide a professional working relationship with the Village residents and team members. As well as being the first point of contact for Emergency Response as part of the overnight on-call services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Observe and report any changes or concerns in resident's health, well-being or behaviour to Village Management.
- Assisting with meal service and dining room set up.
- Manage emergency response procedures, including medical attention as required, is provided and documented in accordance with RVA accreditation guidelines, UnitingCare contracts and resident contracts.
- Respond to resident alarms, applying basic first aid where required and informing/engaging the appropriate authorities.
- Ensure Community buildings and facilities are secured in accordance with set procedures.
- Report on site maintenance or equipment issues to relevant staff.
- Act as a team player and foster a safe work environment for self and others.
What makes a difference for us?
- Previous experience working in hospitality service delivery.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in responding to Workplace Health and Safety emergency procedures
- Current first aid certificate and CPR certificate
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in retirement living, senior's housing or aligned sector is highly regarded.

- Actively provide support to the strategic Hospitality plan.
- In conjunction with the Resident Experience Manager, ensure that all menus have been nutritionally assessed and menu reviews involve and include resident involvement.
- Recipes are trialled and tested using the available resources at the sites, and production staff, along with the target audiences, are actively engaged in the process.
- In conjunction with the Resident Experience Manager, participate in the development and monitoring of recipes in line with standard production practices. This will include the use of software where applicable and also require the monitoring of nutritionally balanced meal production.
- Provide support and technical skills to CPU based personnel in relation to Cook Chill processes and systems, including recruitment, training and ongoing professional development of staff.
- Provide support and technical skills to site based personal in relation to Cook Chill processes and systems including product regeneration and quality.
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders keeping in mind "cause and effect" of changes implemented by you/ team.
- Effectively manage food safety plan compliance for the Bundaberg CPU.
- Report to the Resident Experience Manager on non-compliances and incidents and action taken to rectify.
- Report to the Resident Experience Manager on Bundaberg CPU financial performance KPI’s.
- Control stock management procedures in line with best industry practices

Essential Qualifications & Licences:
- Qualified Chef at Senior Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or equivalent level
- A relevant trade or operational qualification (e.g. Certificate III Commercial Cookery or similar), or equivalent supervisory experience
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience within large-scale food service operations
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial or institutional food production environments
- Current Open Driver Licence
- A sound knowledge of Cook Chill Operations – preferably within Institutional Facilities.

Manage team members changes and turnover in line with Human Resources principles and procedures.
Supervise external contractors and suppliers where required.

The core function of the Site Support Worker position is to ensure the safety of individuals and families who are receiving residential AOD rehabilitation treatment via shift work (after hours and weekends). This position works predominantly as a lone worker to undertake security checks of the perimeter, site tasks and support safety of residents.
Your part in our Blue Care team
Maintain site safety and security by undertaking perimeter checks hourly or as frequently as directed.
Undertake an afternoon lockdown check of buildings and motor vehicles
Monitor the service to ensure that clients and visitors are not bringing or using contraband on-site and are not attending site under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Ensure clients are following the rules of the service and role model this behaviour
De-escalate client disagreements or conflict (with support from on-call or management as necessary)
Respond to emergency situations and call Ambulance, Fire, Police where necessary and with assistance from Manager and/or On-call and documenting in Site Support Worker book or via email.
Report to and/or consult with Manager or On-call in relation to suspicions of on-site use, issues or decisions in relation to all of the above accountabilities.
