Help connect one of Victoria's largest and most diverse healthcare workforces.
Monash Health exists to reimagine care, so that people can live their best lives.
As our organisation continues to evolve, communication plays a critical role in helping employees understand what matters most, stay connected to our purpose and contribute to exceptional care.
We're seeking an exceptional leader to join our Communication and Engagement team as Head of People Communications, leading the strategies, channels and initiatives that strengthen workforce connection, engagement and culture across Monash Health.
The Opportunity
As Head of People Communications, you'll drive the communications strategy that connects Monash Health's 24,000 people to our purpose and to each other.
Reporting to the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer, you'll work closely with the Chief People and Engagement Officer and leaders across the organisation to deliver communication that supports workforce priorities, builds positive culture and fosters pride in the work they do every day.
You'll lead employee communication and engagement across a diverse workforce spanning hospitals, community services and corporate teams, while driving the evolution of our channels, campaigns and communication practices.
From strengthening leadership communication and supporting workforce initiatives, to growing engagement through modern platforms and creating opportunities for meaningful two-way communication, you'll play a key role in shaping how employees experience communication at Monash Health.
Most importantly, you'll help create a workplace where people feel informed, connected and valued, enabling them to deliver their best for patients, families and the community.
What You'll Lead
You'll be responsible for developing and delivering communication and engagement strategies that connect with employees and create joy in work across Monash Health, including:
-
Driving employee engagement, culture and belonging communication strategies that strengthen connection, inclusion and organisational performance.
-
Working with executive leaders to enhance communication effectiveness and build leadership visibility across the organisation.
-
Developing communication strategies that support organisational change, workforce transformation and the adoption of new ways of working.
-
Driving the evolution of internal communication channels, content and digital engagement platforms to better connect a large, dispersed workforce.
-
Establishing measurement, insights and evaluation frameworks to continuously improve communication effectiveness and employee experience.
Who We're Looking For
You're a strategic communicator who understands that communication is one of the most powerful tools for shaping culture and employee experience.
You know how to connect with diverse audiences, influence senior stakeholders and develop communication that people genuinely want to engage with.
You'll have a strong track record in innovation, and an in-depth understanding of how modern communication tools can be optimised to help organisations engage with a busy, dispersed and time-poor workforce.
Specifically, you will bring:
-
Significant experience in employee, internal or people communications leadership roles.
-
Demonstrated success delivering large-scale workforce engagement and communication strategies.
-
Experience partnering with HR, People and Culture or organisational development functions.
-
Strong expertise in change communication and employee engagement.
-
Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills.
-
Exceptional writing, storytelling and content development capability.
-
A contemporary understanding of employee experience, workforce engagement and communication trends.
-
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Healthcare experience is welcomed, but we're equally interested in communications leaders from other large and complex organisations who understand how to influence culture through communication.
Why Monash Health?
This is an opportunity to help shape the experience of thousands of employees who make a difference in the lives of our patients and community every day.
You'll join a team that values innovation, collaboration and purpose, while working in an organisation committed to creating an exceptional workplace for its people.
You'll have the opportunity to influence significant organisational priorities, partner with senior leaders and deliver communication that creates lasting impact.
We offer:
-
A senior leadership opportunity within one of Australia's leading health services.
-
The chance to influence organisational strategy and drive meaningful change.
-
A collaborative and values-driven culture.
-
Professional growth and development opportunities.
-
Salary packaging available to help you maximise your take-home pay
-
Competitive remuneration and employee benefits.
Ready to Shape the Employee Experience?
If you're a communications leader who believes great organisations are built through clarity, connection and culture, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Monash Health and help create the conversations, connections and sense of belonging that empower our people to do their best work and deliver exceptional care every day.
For a confidential discussion and to explore this opportunity further, please reach out to Charles Morton by email at [email protected].
