You will have
- A current registration with AHPRA.
- Previous Cath Lab experience essential
- Structural heart experience (TAVI) is highly desirable
- Cardiac, vascular and radiology experience desirable

At Epworth Geelong in Waurn Ponds, you can choose to work full-time or part-time in the ICU, providing evidence-based nursing care for a complex patient cohort. You will care for patients across cardiovascular, neurosurgery, bariatric, complex surgical and medical cases. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager you will be part of a respectful and supportive ICU team that enjoys challenges and has high levels of job satisfaction.
You will make an impact by:
- Evaluating and monitoring your patient’s progress
- Identifying sudden or subtle changes in your patient’s medical condition
- Caring for patient’s needs throughout their recovery in the ICU
- Creating and implementing effective care plans

Our Peri-operative environment consists of 13 Operating Theatres including a Hybrid Theatre, Cath Lab and 2 endoscopy suites. Located all on the one level we have the Operating Theatre, Cath Lab, ICU and Day Surgery allowing excellent patient flow and best patient care. Our specialities include; Orthopaedics, Vascular, General, Macs Facs, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, Neurosurgery and Urology. We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering, giving our staff an excellent work/life balance. With education as a key motivator for our department we provide multiple opportunities for our staff to develop new skills as well as continue to build on their already strong knowledge base.

How you will make an impact:
The Quality and Safety Partner reports to the Director of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety and works collaboratively with senior managers including the Associate Director, Patient Safety and members of the Clinical Leadership team. Key responsibilities include:
Completes timely review, follow up and closure of adverse patient safety events
Drives the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical quality improvement projects using data to inform areas of focus

Works collaboratively as a member of the Quality and Patient Safety team supporting relevant quality committees and activities to ensure compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
What you will bring to the role:
Qualification as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Clinician with at least five years of health service experience
Understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) and the ACSQHC accreditation scheme
Experience conducting adverse patient safety event / clinical incident reviews and an understanding of statutory duty of candour and open disclosure
A positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude open to learning and professional development
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies and demonstrated experience in driving quality improvement in healthcare
Proficient computer and data management skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

- Contribute to the development of colleagues.

- Provide support for skill development in clinical procedures.
- Provide support for professional development.
- Provide clinical supervision at the point of care including in the moment feedback on performance.

As a Clinical Nurse Educator in SESLHD you will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high quality patient care. CSSU is a fast-paced and varied Paediatric environment caring for up to 32 patients in an inpatient setting. With a broad clinical caseload, no two days are the same. Our patients are predominantly admitted directly from the Emergency Department and generally have a length of stay of up to 72 hours. Our diverse presentations include respiratory conditions such as bronchiolitis, asthma, pneumonia and COVID, as well as common childhood illnesses including fever, poor feeding, UTIs, gastroenteritis, meningitis and seizures. This diversity provides the ideal environment for a CNE to support nurses to continually develop their paediatric assessment, clinical decision-making and acute care skills.
You will also be involved in planning and delivering education across the Network including Speciality Transitional Programs, New Graduate Programs and Mandatory Organisation training. This is a permanent full-time position of three 12-hour shifts per week, plus one 8-hour shift per four-week roster.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) will be responsible for the delivery and evaluation of clinical nursing education. The CNE will work in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) and Nurse Educator (NE) and wider hospital team to develop and implement clinical education relevant to specialities and basic nursing competencies.
The CNE will work collaboratively to support clinical education to others outside the ward/ unit when required.
