Recruitment Specialist - Centralised Recruitment, Nursing and Midwifery
Monash Health View all jobs
Posted 1 month(s) ago
Reference: 2320777
Monash Health exists to reimagine care, so that people can live their best lives.
We provide safe and equitable care, for every stage of life, delivered with world-leading expertise and over 175 years of experience.
As a leading academic health service, we're committed to providing tomorrow's care today by integrating research, teaching and training into everyday practice.
Our team of 24,000 people are full hearted, open minded and all in. Together, we provide more than 250 integrated services for every stage of life at over 50 locations and in the community across south-east Melbourne, Victoria, serving 1.2 million residents in the South Metro Local Health Service Network.
To see first-hand what our colleagues think about working here, take a look at the following short videos monashhealth.org/careers.
Great recruitment doesn't just fill a vacancy. It gives our leaders confidence that they have the right people to deliver exceptional care.
Join a passionate and highly collaborative recruitment team supporting Nursing leaders and operational teams across Monash Health.
This is an opportunity for an experienced recruiter who wants to be more than a process facilitator. You'll become a trusted recruitment partner to our Nursing Managers and operational leaders — understanding their workforce needs, providing practical and contemporary recruitment advice, and helping them make great hiring decisions.
Our team takes enormous pride in the service we provide. We have built strong relationships with our business through being responsive, knowledgeable, consistent and solutions focused, and we're looking for someone who shares that commitment.
About the Role
As a Recruitment Specialist supporting Nursing, you'll manage a dedicated portfolio and work closely with Nursing Managers, senior nursing leaders and operational teams to understand their recruitment priorities and provide an end-to-end recruitment service.
But this role is about much more than moving a requisition through a system.
You'll use your recruitment expertise to guide, influence and support hiring managers, helping them navigate recruitment confidently while ensuring our processes remain fair, consistent, efficient and aligned with best practice.
You will:
- Partner with Nursing Managers and operational leaders across your portfolio
- Provide trusted, practical advice on recruitment strategy and best practice
- Support managers with attraction, advertising, sourcing and candidate engagement
- Guide effective shortlisting, selection and appointment practices
- Help managers navigate complex or challenging recruitment situations
- Balance high-volume recruitment activity with urgent workforce priorities
- Build strong talent pipelines and identify opportunities to improve attraction
- Champion a positive candidate and hiring manager experience
- Work collaboratively across the recruitment team to share workload, knowledge and solutions
- Contribute ideas that continually improve how we recruit at Monash Health
You'll have autonomy and ownership of your portfolio, but you'll never be working in isolation. This a full time role. For the first six months you'll work almost exclusively at a Monash Health site, maximising your opportunity to learn "the way we do things around here". Once you've settled in and demonstrate effective, independent management of your dedicated portfolio, we can offer some flexibility in work locations for part of your work week.
About You
You're an experienced recruiter who enjoys being close to the business and understands that the best way to build partnerships is in person.
You don't simply wait for a manager to tell you what they need — you ask questions, understand the problem they're trying to solve and use your recruitment expertise to help determine the best way forward.
You'll bring:
- Strong end-to-end recruitment experience, including facilitating interviews and group assessments
- Confidence partnering with managers and senior stakeholders
- A genuine commitment to recruitment best practice
- Excellent judgement and the confidence to provide considered advice
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A responsive, customer-focused approach without compromising process or quality
- The ability to build credibility and trusted relationships quickly
- Initiative, curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset
- Resilience and composure in a busy, changing environment
- A collaborative approach and genuine willingness to support your teammates
Experience within healthcare, nursing or high-volume recruitment would be highly regarded, but equally important is your ability to understand your business, build trusted partnerships and deliver recruitment services you're proud to put your name to.
A team that stands behind its work
We're proud of the reputation our recruitment team has built with the business.
We care about doing things properly.
We support one another, share knowledge, challenge ourselves to find better ways of working and step in when a colleague needs support.
Our reputation matters to us
It's been built on trusted relationships, sound advice and consistently delivering for our managers and candidates — and every member of the team plays a part in maintaining it.
Our approach is grounded in equity, transparency, continuous improvement and creating a positive candidate and employee experience.
You'll work alongside experienced recruitment professionals who are passionate about their portfolios and are equally passionate about succeeding as a team.
Why Join Us?
This is a recruitment role where you'll see the impact of your work.
- You'll have the opportunity to develop genuine partnerships with Nursing leaders, influence recruitment practices and help build the workforce that delivers care across one of Australia's most complex public health services.
- You'll also join a team where quality matters, relationships matter and people support each other.
- We're Full Hearted, Open Minded and All In — values that are reflected not only in who we recruit, but in how we work together.
- Bring your recruitment expertise. Build trusted partnerships. Help us recruit the people who make exceptional care possible.
If you're looking for a recruitment role where you're trusted to advise, encouraged to contribute and supported by a team that genuinely cares about the quality of its work, we'd love to hear from you.
For a confidential discussion and to explore this opportunity further, please reach out to Lucy Johnston, Team Leader Talent Acquisition on 0436626130
