Working alongside Clinical Director of Paediatrics you'll join a collegial team delivering general and acute paediatric care in a purpose-built facility, with genuine scope to shape services. A sub-specialty interest - particularly developmental paediatrics - would be warmly welcomed.

• 21-bed Paediatric & Adolescent Unit (PAU), including a dedicated 8-bed paediatric short stay unit
• 7-bed purpose-built Special Care Nursery providing inpatient neonatal services
• Care for infants, children and adolescents from birth to age 16-17 (if still at school)
• Purpose-built hospital opened January 2016, with further redevelopment completed in 2021

About the opportunity

Seeking a motivated and experienced Paediatrician to join our friendly and professional team.

The position arises from an incumbent paediatricians resignation. There is a pro-rata on call component, in addition to outpatient clinic and inpatient ward rounds. A wide range of medical and non-medical problems are seen in this busy clinic.

You will be providing contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes by providing support and training to other clinicians in a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The Dubbo Paediatric Department is a cohesive and friendly team who strive for excellence, whilst maintain reasonable work/life balance. Dubbo Health Service has a 13 bed Child & Adolescent Unit and an 8-12 bed, level 4 Special Care Nursery.

Middle grade cover is provided 24/7 in 12 hour shifts, by three Paediatric Advanced Trainees seconded from the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, as well as our one local Paediatric Trainee. There are plentiful opportunities for teaching, both within the hospital and throughout the region. The University of Sydney Rural School of Medicine oversees placement of 7 medical students at DHS.
