We are seeking a motivated Paediatric Registrar to join our team
This is a full-time role, primarily community based
- Exposure to variety of clinics including preschool developmental, immigrant health, Indigenous health, out of home care and general paediatrics
- Dedicated teaching and non-clinical time each week
- No evening or night shifts. After hours responsibility limited to 1 x weekend shift () every 4 weeks
- Deliver supervised clinical care in outpatient and clinic settings, including assessment, investigation, management, and discharge planning
- Participate in paediatric clinics, including triage, care coordination, and liaison with community healthcare providers
- Support continuity of care through referral management and collaboration with multidisciplinary and external teams
- Provide clinical input for acute presentations and attend emergency or inpatient reviews as required
- Registered Medical Practitioner in Australia
- Strong capability in outpatient and ambulatory paediatric care (best suited for advanced trainees in paediatrics)
- Effective communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary and community settings

Join the Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing Team within Barwon Health's Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS).
This specialist public mental health service provides integrated, recovery-oriented care to young people aged 12-25 years experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges, including dual diagnosis and complex psychosocial presentations.
As a Youth Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver evidence-based assessment, treatment and care coordination within a multidisciplinary team. You will support young people with complex needs, including co-occurring AOD concerns and psychosocial vulnerability, working collaboratively with families, primary care providers, education and community partners to ensure coordinated, recovery-focused care.
This role operates within a seven-day rotating roster.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and recovery-focused interventions
- Provide evidence-based mental health and AOD treatment for young people aged 12-25
- Undertake risk assessment and safety planning in line with clinical governance standards
- Contribute to coordinated care planning with families and partner services
- Relevant qualification and current registration (Nursing, OT, Social Work, Psychology or equivalent)
- Experience working with young people with complex mental health and AOD presentations
- Strong risk formulation and recovery-oriented treatment planning skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and 7-day roster

About the role
Barwon Health is looking for a Senior Experienced clinician to develop themselves professionally as the Acting Clinical Consultant - Pathology Program .
You will be working in conjunction with and under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer and Pathology Program Manager to Provide oversight, operational management, leadership and development in the delivery of Pathology services to Barwon Health. This will include professional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a high-quality pathology service to Barwon Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, operational management, leadership and development in the delivery of Pathology services to Barwon Health
- Act as primary source for operational communication between Pathology provider(s) and Barwon Health ensuring continuous Pathology services to Barwon Health
- Promote Best Practice and educational resources in Pathology service provision, test orderingand management.
- Coordinate the development, review and implementation of clinical guidelines and procedures located on Clinical Practice on the document control system
- Ensure documented processes and procedures include multidisciplinary consultation and are evidence based with a strong focus on consumer centred care.
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of work in line with Barwon Health policies, while maintaining regular communication with the Pathology Program Manager
- Oversee Pathology service delivery by monitoring performance and supporting clinical leads to manage resources effectively, ensuring high-quality and financially responsible outcomes

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) or relevant tertiary qualification in science, biomedical science, or medical laboratory science
- Demonstrated clinical excellence with extensive experience in the clinical setting

This role has the possibility of being rotational across two areas: Inpatient GEM at McKellar Centre and Trasition Care at Allan David Lodge.
Weekend work (as part of a team roster) will form part of this role.

About the role
Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking a Visiting Medical Officers (VMO) in Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine to join our new medical eating disorder team. The majority of the patients will be paediatric, there will be scope to see young people with eating disorders up to the age of 25. You will be working closely with the established Mental Health Eating Disorder Service, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, local GPs, Hospital In The Home and inpatients teams (primarily Paediatrics). The role is a mix of outpatient and inpatient support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialised, consultative medical care to young people up to 25 years with eating disorders across inpatient, HITH and outpatient settings, working closely with paediatric and mental health teams.
- Lead and support the multidisciplinary team, supervise junior doctors and advanced trainees, participate in MDT meetings, on-call responsibilities, education and performance feedback.
- Ensure patient- and family-centred, evidence-based and safe care in line with Australian standards and Barwon Health policies, including documentation, risk management, incident reporting and quality improvement.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, service improvement, conferences and publications, while maintaining professional development and completion of mandatory training.
What we're looking for
- Basic Medical degree, registrable with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and/or Adolescent Medicine)
- Experience working with young people with Eating Disorders
- Ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
