Job Description:
About the opportunity:
St Vincent's has been a leader in Australia's health and aged care landscape for more than 165 years. Since our founders, the Sisters of Charity, opened our first hospital in 1857, our services and nearly 30,000 people have been behind some of Australia's most important medical breakthroughs. We are a microcosm of Australia’s health and aged care system and are uniquely positioned to lead and respond to our rapidly changing environment.
You'll be joining St Vincent’s as we launch our exciting new vision Bringing Care Home, which will take the best of St Vincent’s care beyond our hospitals and aged care homes directly into the homes of our communities across the country, making care more personal and accessible. Bringing Care Home is more than a strategy. It’s how we’ll deliver care that is better, fairer, and more connected – for everyone we serve.
Reporting to the General Manager, Ageing Care at Home, the National Manager – Home Aged Care will lead the national delivery of St Vincent’s community aged care services, including Support at Home, the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), fee-for-service and future community-based services.
This is a key operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the end-to-end business operates effectively. Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead the national end-to-end operations of Home Aged Care, ensuring people, processes, systems and associated providers work together effectively.
- Drive strong operational and financial performance, including budget, utilisation and productivity, and ensure operational processes support accurate and timely claiming and client statements.
- Lead high-quality delivery of Support at Home and CHSP, ensuring services meet the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Rules, strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant program requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing national workforce, developing capability, accountability and a strong culture through ongoing change.
- Partner with Quality, Clinical Governance, Compliance and Assurance teams to embed effective governance and controls and lead the business through audit, accreditation and assurance activity.
- Oversee associated provider arrangements and performance, ensuring services meet St Vincent’s regulatory, quality and contractual requirements.
- Lead systems and technology change for the business and champion the effective use of data, automation and AI to improve operations and client experience.
- Lead delivery of agreed growth plans, including referral pathways, partnerships and client acquisition, and work with Product and Service Design teams to embed new services into business as usual.
Things that work for us:
- Senior leadership experience in home and community aged care, including leadership of large multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024, Aged Care Rules 2025, strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Support at Home and CHSP.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex end-to-end service operations, ideally including claiming, client statements and associated provider arrangements.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing operational and financial performance.
- Experience leading systems, technology and operational change, with an understanding of how data, automation and AI can improve service delivery.
- A strategic and practical mindset, with the ability to improve client experience, simplify processes and drive sustainable service performance.
- Strong people leadership and the ability to lead teams successfully through significant change.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills in complex, matrixed organisations.
- Tertiary qualifications in nursing, allied health or another relevant discipline; postgraduate qualifications in business or management are desirable.
- Successful completion and maintenance of Responsible Person screening requirements under the Aged Care Act.
Things that work for you:
- Opportunity to work for the nation’s largest Catholic not-for-profit health and aged care provider, with a rapidly growing and progressive vision.
- More take-home pay with salary packaging options up to $15,990, Novated leasing, plus an optional Meals and Entertainment card up to $2,650 per annum.
- Be part of a supportive, state leadership team with a great community spirit, where you can grow professionally and make a genuine impact.
- Join an organisation where staff feedback largely indicates they feel respected, desire to stay working with our organisation and are confident in management’s leadership.
- Employee Assistance Program for staff and their families.
- Access to Fitness Passport (Gym/pool discounted program), Blue Light Card and discounted holiday accommodation.

The Physiotherapy Department has an established 0.8 FTE presence in the Kingston area, supporting Kingston MPS and community and outpatient programs. With stable staffing and a sustained local presence, there is strong potential to further develop outpatient and community-based services.
We are seeking a Physiotherapist for a 12-month temporary appointment commencing in early 2027, with a negotiable start date and likely opportunities for extension.
Full-time employment is preferred, however part-time arrangements are negotiable for the right applicant. Additional service capacity may also support surrounding communities, including Naracoorte and Lucindale.
About You
You’re a motivated Physiotherapist who enjoys the variety and autonomy of rural practice and is committed to delivering responsive, person-centred care. Whether you're developing your career at AHP1 level or bring the experience required for AHP2 practice, you'll value teamwork, professional development and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to regional communities.
To succeed in the Rural Generalist Physiotherapist role, you will:
- Hold a recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and meet all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrate effective clinical assessment, treatment and physiotherapy skills appropriate to your level of experience.
- Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with consumers, families and community service providers.
- Demonstrate a commitment to clinical supervision, reflective practice, professional development, quality improvement and evidence-based care.
- For appointment at AHP2, hold a two-year Masters with a related allied health undergraduate degree or at least two years' postgraduate experience and demonstrate AHP2-level competencies.
About Allied Health
Allied Health professionals across the Limestone Coast Local Health Network deliver high-quality, person-centred services across a diverse regional and rural healthcare environment.
Our teams work across acute, subacute, outpatient, community, rehabilitation, residential aged care, paediatrics and other specialist services, partnering closely with consumers, families, multidisciplinary teams and communities across the Limestone Coast.
Joining Allied Health at LCLHN means becoming part of a collaborative and supportive professional network with opportunities for clinical supervision, professional development, education, service improvement and multidisciplinary practice, while building a rewarding career in regional South Australia.
About Physiotherapy
The LCLHN Physiotherapy team delivers services across a diverse range of clinical and community settings, including inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, community and outreach services.
At AHP1, you'll work with direct clinical support that decreases as your experience develops, receiving advice, mentorship and supervision from experienced Physiotherapists while building broad rural generalist skills.
At AHP2, you'll use your clinical experience and increasingly developed generalist and/or specialist knowledge to manage more complex clinical practice with reduced clinical direction. You may also contribute to the supervision and development of less experienced Allied Health professionals, Allied Health Assistants and students.
You'll be supported by the broader LCLHN Physiotherapy Network, with access to clinical supervision, professional development and education while helping strengthen physiotherapy services across Kingston and surrounding communities.
