Danila Dilba Health Service in Darwin seeks a paediatric leader with post-Fellowship credentials to guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering culturally safe child health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The role emphasizes development paediatrics, strong collaboration, and primary care integration, with a commitment to improving access and outcomes for Indigenous communities.

Provide clinical leadership to a wide range of clinicians working with children, specifically aiming to drive access to culturally appropriate, high quality, comprehensive paediatric health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people / clients of DDHS. This role will have a focus on developmental paediatrics / general paediatrics and will work as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team.

There is a significant primary care component of this role as well as working with specific programs across the service. There is also a requirement to participate in the development of improved child health services appropriate to meeting the needs of DDHS.

• AHPRA registration with post-Fellowship clinical experience.
• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians - General Paediatrician
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
• Demonstrated high standard of written skills in the preparation of reports, general correspondence and documentations.
• Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks and resources to deliver outcomes within time and budget considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a cross-cultural and complex environment.
• Understanding and respect for the importance of the role of Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, Aboriginal Health Workers and other Indigenous staff in Aboriginal Health and be willing to respect and support the DDHS, Aboriginal Health Worker First policy.
• Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and an understanding of contemporary health policy.
• Demonstrated ability to use culturally sensitive ways to ensure improved client access to DDHS and/or other health services.
• Proven teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively negotiate outcomes with a diverse range of people and service providers.
• High level of personal resilience and flexibility with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
• Demonstrated computer skills, especially in the use of client information systems or similar.
